Never having played Borderlands 2, nor having much desire to, I recommend....Borderlands 2. You obviously have some interest in it, and I would say it is best to get in on a multiplayer game (I am not saying that multiplayer is all that Borderlands 2 is offering for the record) while there is still people who are playing it. That being said I can honestly say I do not know very much at all about XCOM or Witcher 2. I own DEHR, but have not got around to playing it yet. On a similar note I keep an unread Kurt vonnegut book with in arms reach too. As for the other games on the list I have played all of them. Interestingly enough (to me) all of those games fall into a category of games I call character model eye sores. Where the Character model's body proportions become such a distraction to me, that I start picking a part other aspects of the game as more reason to stop "having" to play the game and continue looking at the character model eye sores. Some games on that list survived a lot longer than others. I played lots of hours of New Vegas, after playing lots of hours of Oblivion and Fall Out 3, if that helps clears up my point a little more.

Is there any type of game your particularly interested in? I mean, all those games will have someone telling you they're good, but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll like them.

Seeing as I just finished Dishonored I can take that off of the list.

I voted for The Witcher 2 since it was a very solid and remarkable experience for me.

I really like what they did with the scope of the world, meaning that it's not a huge open world, preferring to focus on a story-relevant scenario, without sacrificing your freedom to explore and discover hidden secrets and side-plots.

The controls are actually pretty responsive and make for fair, yet skill rewarding gameplay. The problem with the lack of a proper tutorial has been solved after the enhanced edition, so now you are pretty much guaranteed to understand most of the mechanics by the end of the intro sequence.

Some character are very well built, that got me very engaged in exploring my relationship with every single one of the main characters.

The "mythos" for the world is interesting and quite ample, probably due to the long established book series.

While the rather generic fantasy setting might make you a little skeptical it is actually pretty involving.

As I said before, the developers chose not to focus their spotlight on the whole fantasy world thing. Where the game really shines, though, is in its presentation of geopolitical implications of things like war, succession, sovereignty, cultural bonds and other things (please keep in mind that even though you DO influence some outcomes in this field, the way they manage to expose the issues surrounding you and all of the kingdoms around you is the real focus).

The graphics are pretty good and there's definitely some replayability due to the fact that the entire 2nd Act (out of 3) may change entirely depending on choices you make.

Sure, there's the sex scenes controversy, but they play a role in the world's and the characters' characterizations (seriously, a medieval-like world without hookers and soldiers who aren't horny as hell is not really what you'd call realist).

Well I think that's all my fanboyism for this game can come up with right now.
So you should definitely try it, it's easily in my top 10 games of all time.

Some god games on that list.
While I love Fallout NV and BL2, DX : HR has a special place in my heart as what I consider to be a damn near perfect game.

Updated. Finished up Dishonored. Seems like I cannot edit the poll.
Nice list, you certainly have good taste in games.

I'd recommend fallout NV or XCOM next.
