For Pearl Harbor? Are you out of your mind? It's not like.. Ohh I don't know, you did blow up Hiroshima and Nagasaki 4 years later and killing something around 90,000?166,000 in Hiroshima and 60,000?80,000 in Nagasaki ( Thank you wikipedia). So how many did die in PH then.. Must have been a more people then we can count.. Or 3706 killed.. And what is this
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/13/japan-earthquake-2011-death-toll-10000_n_835013.html

I'm sorry for sounding so angry.. But I'm angry when I see people write this. What is wrong with them? Yes people did die in PH but that was over 60 years ago and you did get your "payback" buy dropping two huge bombs on their country. Did they miss that part in school? Or are they just stupid beyond belief?

Every country has horrible disgusting idiots, how is this a surprise?

I am an American and I have never once thought anything like those insensitive misinformed morons.

My thoughts are with Japan.

There are idiots everywhere.
It has nothing to do with America.
Just douche-bags in general.

It all stems from the problem that a lot of people aren't able to realize that 1940's America and 1940's Japan are not the same countries they are today. Very few of the original people from those countries are still alive. When talking about World War II, I shouldn't say "We" bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but rather "1940's Americans" (more specifically the military and government, not the civilian population) bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Americans are typically like bullies; any injury they take as a personal insult. They dish out the pain arrogantly enough yet bawl and whine when they have to take it.

But meh. All countries are the same. The second the bombs fall on home soil its white-flag waving and talk of the rules of war.
Oh come now, Mackheath. I'm sure your country has plenty of jerks too, they just haven't hadd a giant demotivational poster made about them yet.

Hooray for dumb people!

but seriously there are a lot of ignorant people in the world, and unfortunately a lot of them are very vocal of their ignorance. The best possible plan is to just ignore them, and focus on the people suffering. Don't give them the satisfaction of someone caring about their ridiculous opinions.

Dude, don't blame Americans for being that stupid. It's just like when Americans blame all the Muslims for 9/11.

Oh, wait...

The bit they don't get is that Japan was the largest single country contributor of aid to the hurricane Katrina in the world. Irony much?

Still, there are maybe 30 people on that poster. Even if a thousand times that agreed with the sentiment, it's still an extremely tiny fraction of the country. You can't judge a people on the actions of the few, otherwise everyone would be fucked.

I wholly disagree with them, but I see where they would get the idea. If you believe in an all powerful loving God, then you need some way to explain disasters, and for these ignorant nut jobs, that explanation is that God cares so much about them that he'd bring disaster upon people who they consider to be sinners. We saw the same kind of retarded statements being made when hurricane Katrina hit, and no doubt, we'll see some more of this ignorant shit the next time there's a big natural disaster. It's just how they cling to their faith in the face of evidence that might seem to undermine the idea of a loving God.

I'm sure that some of the veterans of Pearl Harbor have every reason to be sore about it. "Sore" being an understatement.

But what I don't understand is that, with all those people saying "Japan bombed America, Japan bombed America, I haven't forgotten!" what they fail to realize is that most of the citizens alive in Japan today, which most of the whole country is comprised of, had nothing to do with Pearl Harbor. Just like me and my brothers and sisters and cousins didn't have anything to do with (sorry to bring in other issues but they're purely examples) historic racism, or the bombing of Hiroshima, or anything that happened in the past. Just as we had nothing to do with those, the citizens in Japan had nothing to do with Pearl Harbor.

The blame concentrated in the wrong spot. And that one spot where it is deserved is shrinking smaller and smaller every day. Soon we'll have no reason to point fingers at Japan for Pearl Harbor.
