Americans are typically like bullies; any injury they take as a personal insult. They dish out the pain arrogantly enough yet bawl and whine when they have to take it.

But meh. All countries are the same. The second the bombs fall on home soil its white-flag waving and talk of the rules of war.
Oh come now, Mackheath. I'm sure your country has plenty of jerks too, they just haven't hadd a giant demotivational poster made about them yet.
My hometown got annihilated by the Blitz in WW2. The Luftwaffe and the Third Reich shed no tears over that. So yeah, we have plenty of assholes; the world is full of them. I just find the talk of rules of war and chivalry childish and pathetic.
I'm sorry for that, but I was talking less about genuinely evil people and more about idiots who say asinine things about unfortunate people on facebook, as evidenced by the OP.

Saw this about a week after the earthquake happened. I hope all of those people lose all of their friends for those comments. There's no excuse for shit like that. None.

Notice the lack of bend in the baseball caps and the overuse of ya'll. They aren't representing Americans, they are douchebags.
I really hope that you aren't implying that all people who use the word "y'all" (a vernacular word used in the Southern United States for situations that require a second person plural)are douchebags. If you are, then it is now very clear that you are a really ignorant person.

That said... yeah, these guys are just assholes.

The thing that baffled me most about those pictures was that the collagist thought that a stranded cat was equatable to a mother gripping her dead child. I pity the disconnection these Americans feel for their fellow man. Their lives must feel so empty.

Can I have a button that says;

"Yes, they are crazy ay-merry-cans that I wish to kick in the bollocks once I am no longer able to punch them due to the associated damage to my fists from my repeated attempts to pummel a modicum of sense, compassion or decency into them, and failing."
I'd click that button right quick.

I thought Cartman was supposed to be a cartoon stereotype. Way to prove me wrong ay-merry-car.

That's what SageSays.

What I'm very tired of is the entire world (not just the Escapist readers in general) seeing Americans as lily-white, pick-up driving rednecks. Those people are in the far minority; yet somehow, whenever ANYTHING about America pops up, these are the assholes that are always trotted out for public display. It's getting old, guys, get mature and grow up.

One third of the American population is now comprised of Hispanics. Then you have your African Americans, Asians, etc, etc. I'm in the far minority myself: I'm a Native American. I could go on all morning about what damage has been done in the five hundred years 'white people' have been here; but griping isn't going to change anything, so why bother? Its all in the past, and people need to move forward.

Theres a message here, folks. Move forward, and don't buy into this anti-American hate mongering.

Why would one reply angrily to what I'd posted? I'm confused.

At least we can both agree my avatar is full of all sorts of win.

Because I am american, I'm not feeling very empty at all at the moment. I actually really like traveling and getting to know people in other countries, and I tend to like them a lot more then my fellow american friends, not gonna lie.

Honestly, I kinda thought you were trolling or something.

Pearl Harbor? Is that their only excuse?

What about all of the fucking men who died in the Europeian front of WW2? No one ever says anything bad when something bad happens to Germany!

But no, sense its japan, they get all of the hatemail.

NEVAR!

Nah, kidding. English grammar can be a beast and it's easily misinterpreted.

(as a side note, is anyone else getting pretty sick of this CAPTCHA nonsense the Escapist has brought in?)

27 pages, of everything that will most likely be said in this thread.

OT: The "I am not saying every American is like this" and the quoting of the atomic bomb deaths, don't go together as you might think. Especially while saying "you did..." I'm not saying everyone of a group is like this, but this entire group did this. I'm sorry for sounding so angry, but this entire group did this.

Ugh, yes. I had to reload three times before I could find one I could read for my last post.

As I said, I don't believe ALL Americans are like this. I have much respect for The U-S-Of-A.
The things that makes me made is.. It happened over 60 years ago! We have so much information about this war that I can't forgive people not knowing when they talk out their own asshole!

Dr.A said:
But what I don't understand is that, with all those people saying "Japan bombed America, Japan bombed America, I haven't forgotten!" what they fail to realize is that most of the citizens alive in Japan today, which most of the whole country is comprised of, had nothing to do with Pearl Harbor. Just like me and my brothers and sisters and cousins didn't have anything to do with (sorry to bring in other issues but they're purely examples) historic racism, or the bombing of Hiroshima, or anything that happened in the past. Just as we had nothing to do with those, the citizens in Japan had nothing to do with Pearl Harbor.
I see what you mean there, but people should know what the hell there talking about before they write something like this. This is one of the most offensive things I have ever seen in my life.
