Notice the lack of bend in the baseball caps and the overuse of ya'll. They aren't representing Americans, they are douchebags.
I really hope that you aren't implying that all people who use the word "y'all" (a vernacular word used in the Southern United States for situations that require a second person plural)are douchebags. If you are, then it is now very clear that you are a really ignorant person.
That said... yeah, these guys are just assholes.
I do think there is an unfortunate connection between southern vernacular and ignorance.
I say ya'll quite often but I'd like to think I'm not batshit retarded.
When I first heard the pearl harbor comments springing up I wished I was the silver surfer for just one day so I could whip some serious ass all across the US.
But what can you do :/.
It's unfortunately that a few thousand people say something stupid and folks huddle around it for lulz and ignore the millions of American people who aren't so stupid they forget to breath.

Yup, cause those 10000 people were all personally responsible for the bombing of Pearl Harbor. It's only fair to hold a whole country responsible for the sins of their forebears from 70 years ago.
/sarcasm
Japan was doing things in the Pacific the US didn't agree with. the US cut off supplies to Japan in response. The Japanese had a limited amount of Oil left and asked the US if they could pay the US gold to end the blockade.
The US told them their gold was not worth as much as a normal races gold. So the Japanese had three options. The first was to bend to the demands of the US (something the US would never do so why expect another country to), the second was pay much more than they should need to, or to attack the US.
The Japanese attacked pearl harbor and invaded China. I presume the goal with that was to get big enough that the US wouldn't attack back. Basically like we didn't like russia but wouldn't invade them.
The attack on Pearl Harbor was not unprovoked, so I don't think that it's necessarily a sin of their forebears.
NOW if we are arguing that both sides were total dick bags and sinful then for sure.
Anywho I know you were being sarcastic

. I could have targeted my response at a better post I'm sure. I just hate when folks act like the US was just drinking ice tea and randomly Japan attacked us for lulz.
Most of our counterattack could have been avoided just by waiting a little longer, they had most of their navy moored up by the end because they didn't have enough fuel to send them out. By some accounts the Kamikaze attacks were even in response to not having resources to complete two way missions (though this probably was bolstered by the nationalism and faith thing).
Anywho, everyone in WWII was an asshole. I just don't like when any particular side gets made out to be this unprovoked aggressor. Everyone was picking on someone and it lead to very bad things.
