It's people like these who make me ashamed to say I'm an American (and with that a Texan). If anything, we're the bad guy in this scenario for releasing a weapon equal to God's Holy damnation on an already small nation and making the living space even smaller with the fallout we released. Japan is now one of the United States' greatest allies, they detest the thought and suspicion of the rebuilding of a military, culturally wealthy and beautiful, the staple of our worldwide geek culture*, the second most powerful economy in the world, has the smallest carbon footprint, and is the Mecca for all Geekdom. This is the sort of stuff that makes me believe there should be a law passed that says you need a license to use the web responsibly and not like Glenn Beck. This disgusts me, offends me, and anyone who says these hurtful things are both ignorant, degenerate, and are not true Americans.

Im upset I only can choose either punch them or kick them in the bollocks.

These are the people that other people think of when they think Americans; and it pisses me off.

Plus by the logic behind their comments, America is due for something horrible. The Doolittle raid was the untended payback for Pearl Harbor, as was the two A-bombs. Ass it stands, America would be deserving some reparation from America, karma wise.

what you just said makes you part of the problem... lumping all of us together because SOME assholes think and behave a certain way. you have the same exact mindset as the people posting all that crap about the earthquake in Japan being payback for the attacks on Pearl Harbor.

those people think of an entire country of people as being one with their government, and somehow being responsible for what that government decided to do almost SEVENTY years ago.

and you, like many others, appear to believe that all Americans share the same thoughts and opinions of every American that happens to be a complete asshole. some jackass KKK member thinks everyone who isnt white is scum, so i must think that too right? i am a fellow American, afterall.

nobody seems to care that America is one of the most generous countries in the world when it comes to natural disasters. even recently, despite this countries' crippling debt, our people and government still donate billions and billions of dollars to Haiti, Japan, and whoever else suffers such tragedies. pretty surprising, coming from a country of bullies, isnt it?

imo, the mindset youve shown here has the same qualities as racism, its just aimed at a different, and more general group of people. but nobody else ever seems to realize this, unfortunately.

oh well
well can't say much more than this. thank you for saying it better than i probably would have put it. Sadly we are always judged by the slight mistake of our minority, because our minority is much more dense due to our countries size and media strength.

OT: I can't believe ppl would have aspects of thought like this...

Its just so bad how ignorant some people can be

these people arent crazy. dont lump these ignorant losers in with us crazy people. they would give crazy people a bad name carrot.

pearl harbour was like 70 years ago now. dont you think god or mother nature would have punished japan a little quicker?

i would think Little Boy and Fat Man were more than enough revenge for pearl harbour.

Americans are typically like bullies; any injury they take as a personal insult. They dish out the pain arrogantly enough yet bawl and whine when they have to take it.

But meh. All countries are the same. The second the bombs fall on home soil its white-flag waving and talk of the rules of war.
Dude, the people who posted that stuff are the same people who listen to Glenn Beck and watch Fox news, stupid drunken rednecks and the cancer of America. They're the ass of America, we would exile them to countries where they would be tolerated even less if we could. They're a racist stereotype.

*Drawn out Sigh* God I hate people like that, it makes all of us Americans look like moronic xenophobics...
Also, there's no need for as these fucktards are saying 'the world or God' to get revenge, America, took care of it's own problem with atomic bombs, note, I'm not saying it was the right thing to do, but we did it which was more than enough revenge. And just like some of the best friends in the world (myself and my best friend Tanner included) after a fight you wouldn't know we had any difference by how we act to each other now.

Actually most of the people I'm around (I'm American) are honestly donating and praying for these poor people out of utter kindness. Its disgusting to me to see some of my countrymen acting with such ignorance. Pearl Harbor was a kick in the nuts to us sure. But come on we nuked their ass. The only time in history that has happened. That more than made up for Pearl Harbor. This is simply mother nature kicking Japan right in the balls. And this crap about God punishing them for Pearl Harbor is insane. I highly doubt God looks on any country with more favor than the other.

These are the sort of people who don't have my respect at all. Despite the fact that the Pearl Harbor attack was an act of war, killed mostly military personal (any civilian causalities were probably an accident), and didn't involve as much death and devastation as the recent natural disaster, these people think that comparing the two is totally fine. Never mind the revenge bombs that the US pulled off not that long after the war started, the countless lives lost during WW2 on both sides of the Pacific, and the two atomic bombs that were dropped to end the war; nope this natural disaster on a bunch of innocent civilians who's only connection to the event that brought the US into WW2 is that their ancestors were the ones who pulled it off is what makes us even. Fucking makes me want to put all these people into one place and pull off the same thing on them.

Course these people are just ignorant fucks and there will always be more of them around no matter how many you take care of. Just a part of life you have to deal with.

Oh and these aren't a good example of most Americans. I know plenty of people are hoping that things go better over there and have donated to help out in this country.

I voted no, but just because this topic is incredibly old news at this point and doesn't deserve serious consideration in responding.

But yes, those people are morons, now let's move on...

It is a good thing these people aren't representative of the majority. Then I would have no option but to lose my faith in our future.

Yeah...it's sad...some people just can't open their eyes enough to see past the very narrow minded beliefs they cling so firmly to. Pearl Harbor was a tragedy yes, but you don't ask for payback on the same country over 50 years later with a natural disaster which is ravaging a good deal of the country, in a peace time between the two countries no less. The U.S is on rather friendly terms with Japan for crying out loud. And pay back? Really? I would think we got pay back with the bomb droppings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which is still rather bad but that was during war times.

http://www.neomonsterisland.com/tktarkv/vol4/034/1700/1.html I feel kinda silly for bringing up a good point made by a comic using Godzilla...but the owner of said comic makes me think of the good that humanity can still show. He's done fund raisers, food drives and other such stuff during times of tragedy like here or hurricane Katrina

Perl Harbor attack 1941: 2,402 dead and 1,282 wounded.

Tohoku earthquake & tsunami 2011: 13,778 dead, 4,916 wounded and 14,175 still missing.

Just putting those figures out there.

You wouldnt see this in England. Nope. Despite the resourseful, dedicated, industrious, yet unmaterialistic nations of britain being a force to be reckoned with in the fight against evil, and all that, no one in modern England drags our losses back up or talk about the noble sacrifice of our soldiers for the good of the rest of Europe,no the good of the world.
We are simply too level headed, inteligent and are able to see through the lie which is patriotism, you might wonder why, ill give you a simple answer, because we are English.

Wait, did i just? i did, didnt i? Bugger.

People say stupid things. these people said some really stupid things. probably blinded by patriotism and guided by the childish notion that if you really like something youve got to be the hero and let everyone know about it. loudly.

anyhow, each and every country has idiots whos twisted take on patriotism makes them do and say stupid things, just look at the English defence legue, im not going to get irate over it, what is important,to me, is what i think, and my thoughts are with the families of those who have been lost and those who still suffer the effects of the earthquake and the radiation leak it caused.

(my appologies if my initial paragraph made me sound like a dick, i am one, just not for the reason that paragraph was worded to make me out to be!)

Because people can't forget wounds that weren't even inflicted on them.

It's like if someone punched your grandpa when he was kid and then you spit on the punchers grandson for the deed their grandfather did. Not the same generation, they don't deserve it.

Plus, Japan makes anime. That's why we love them.

I doubt those people have enough intelligence to determine their asshole from their elbow. However, the thing that makes me laugh is that they mention 'karma' for Pearl harbour. So what would be the 'karma' for Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Not the fizziest drinks in the fridge.

Fuck these Americans, how dare they generalise a race of people and tar everyone with the brush from actions taken by other people in the same general header! Fuck them all!
