I find Myself playing handhelds more often now. Since I started College my schedule gets a bit cumbersome, so whenever i get the time, i pull out my trusty DS lite( or psp if im desperate) and enjoy gaming a bit.

I don't feel the urge to play games in the livingroom and hate console controllers, so I just stick to PC games for now. As for handhelds. I haven't played on those since the age of 10.

I used to be a hard core PC gamer. Then I got tired of upgrading the PC. Not to mention my last major upgrade did little to improve performance. Consoles give a nice, quick put-it-in-and-play experience. And of course playing of a 54" screen is better then a 22". Yeah, the bleeding edge PCs can give better graphics then a console. Also, I simply can't play a RTS on a console (until they start giving strong mouse support) but for general use the consoles just make more sense these days.

I like PC games, but I can easily see the merits of playing a console. I just know where to get good parts cheaply, when to get them, and how to stuff them into the box. That and I really like the modding/machinima scene, which is usually thrown to shit on consoles so I'll be sticking over here thanks.

Yeah, my suppliers for cheap PC parts have all but dried up these days. Even still a good video card can run $400+ The cost of an entire console. And the lifecycle for these parts is shortening.

Used to be PC-only, but now I'm running mostly on console. Actually, I think the only PC game I still play (other than Solitare on my UMPC) is the current "Dawn of War"... and that's eased off lately.

Meh I think the whole RTS thing has more to do with UI design more than anything. I hope End War ends up working out, if it does hopefully we will see a new trend in rts games.

I tend to play on consoles more mostly because I can never seem to find a comfortable position for playing games on my laptop.

I grew up a console gamer, always having a pretty crappy computer around. I'm used to the controller, and I'm used to the variety of genres. However, not only do I have no interest in having to constantly upgrade a computer (near impossible since, at the moment, I'm using a laptop), I just don't want to deal with the driver issues, patches and so many other nitpicks that come with it. The demo for UT3 basically just made me say "enough is enough".

When it comes to handhelds, though, I like the innovation of the DS and some of the things they are trying to do with it, but I can't justify owning one. I got rid of my system because either the good games lack replay value (Pheonix Wright), or they are limited in A.I., physics and other capabilities compared to consoles. They're nice once in a while, but I've played those sorts of games already. Plus, it doesn't matter if it's all done with a stylus now, the latest Zelda is still played like a Zelda. The input device hasn't made that much of a difference.

So, in the end I stick with console, as that's where the technological innovations are being made, providing truly new experiences as opposed to old experiences with a new input device.

I used to be more of a PC gamer, then when consoles became more popular I found myself switching to those for a change of pace. After playing Consoles for a while though, they seem to be repeating and boring. Ie. all shooters to me are almost exactly the same.
Now I'm back to a PC gamer, mainly playing Mmo's then anything else.

I am a reformed PC-snob that is in the middle of paying his pennance for missing out on a TON of excellent console games by playing them all now on either emulators, a refurbished PS-X (I rebuilt one out of parts salvaged from three trashed units), and my X-Box. Luckily for me there is a store in my home-town that specialises in "classic" games (they even have stuff for the Sega Genesis!)

Most of my gaming is still done on the PC though, more out of convenience than preference these days though (as a wannabe Indie game-dev I spend alot of time on the PC). My console gaming is more limited to those lazy Saturday mornings when I don't feel like climbing out of bed yet (PS-X) or those rare occasions when the PC is turned off (X-Box).

...man I need a life ^_^

The first games I ever played were Fallout and C&C: Red Alert when I was... seven? I've been a PC gaming enthusiast ever since. Granted, I've had more than enough fun with console gaming from time to time, but I've yet to actually own one. There have been a few games that have made me tempted to buy a console, but then I realize I can use one of my friends' or wait for it to inevitably be released on the PC anyway (hopefully legally.)

I used to near solely play handhelds, but over the years my consoles have been gaining more and more of my game time. I haven't even bought a handheld game since Metroid Prime: Hunters, though I do plan on getting Phantom Hourglass and various PSP games soon (as in, after I get all of the console games I want that come out this year).

Ill admit it im a C&C addict till i descovered fable and by this time i could play C&C blindfolded so i found myself doing both...at same time having fun on fable and killing on C&C...

Then i got a DS that threw my ll set up of BC and console away...

so now it depends what i feel like wether its in the DS or on fable..

either way C&C is allways running

Since I'm on my 4th 360 and this has now all but stopped being able to recognise disks I'm beginning to lose all faith in the technology behind it. I have a PSP but the whole thing makes my hands ache and I only use it when I'm flying somewhere (which isn't often)

I've moved back to PC technology so when a component fails I can replace it myself.
