I'm all over the place. I've been known to dive into Oblivion and Fallout with Mass Effect and Kotor as close seconds for some RPG fun, but I've also been known to enjoy FPS games like Left 4 Dead and Halo and Horror games like Alan Wake with the occasional Adventure game like Assassin's Creed.

I'm hard to describe.

I usually go for JRPGs but I do love action/platformer games every now and then.

Strategy, more specifically...4X

4X, like Galactic Civilizations: Endless Universe, are the type of games that can kill my day.
A quick 'one hour game' turns into 'O, shi! WHERE DID THE SUN GO?'.

I went for strategy, simply because my favourite game ever is an RTS... but actually I don't mind FPS, TPS or RPG games (or any combo of those).

Halo is an FPS and I love it, Mass Effect is both a TPS and an RPG and I love it, etc.

RPGs would be my favourite genre, and I enjoy any type of RPG, whether its Western RPGs, like Morrowind or Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, as well as JRPGs, like Dragon Quest: Journey of the Cursed King and Final Fantasy VI.

Having said that, I do like action-adventure style games a lot as well, like The Legend of Zelda and Okami. I do play other genres, but those'd be my favourite.

I put Horror, because you missed out Combo-orientated Hack & Slash, but I love Horror, VS fighters, H&S, TP Adventure games, Story-orientated FPS' (I.E. Bioshock), RPG, J-RPG, Action RPG... Yeah, I like RPG's quite a lot too...

My primary interest is RPG and its sub-categories that people seem to always claim to be individual genres. I primarily enjoy the JRPG sub category the most because I enjoy that stlye more. SRPGs coming in second and WRPGs in third. WRPGs are fine but there are just some elements of them that don't sit well with me.

Fighters have recently taken second place for favorite genre with me. I love the competitive nature of them, the intricacies of each fighters system, and the overall depth they provide. They make you (for those who actually give a damn) strive to become better and the ultimate goal of being the best is always just out of reach but never so far as to seem impossible.

And third would probably be Shooters. I've had a bit of a falling out with them in the past year or so, but they are still fun I guess. Just recently they haven't been fun and they just feel too derivative to me. At least there are a few on the horizon that actually look fun...and aren't called CoD...

Shoot 'em ups make up the biggest part of my gaming collection, though it's a genre I'm feeling less attached to these days since I dislike 3rd person shooters and have absolutely no interest in any FPS that is boringly realistic, modern military themed or squad based... so that's most of them nowadays.

Shooters most of the time, but I also like RPGs, like Oblivion/Fallout 3, and Action like Assassins Creed.

Hmm...I think the first option actually encapsulates all of them. Assuming fighting games count as action and visual novels count as adventure (as in, old-school "adventure" games).

Turn-based!

In both RPG and Strategy format!

Pokemon, Fire Emblem, early Final Fantasies, etc.
