My ten year old picture tube set finally died on me and I'm looking for advice on what kind of set to buy. Gaming and DVD films are the main entertainment in my household. LCD or plasma? Burn-in issues? Blurring with fast movement? Advice and reviews would be great.

LCD is definitely the way to go for gaming. Although I don't know anything about LED TVs, but I believe they're more expensive. I use a 42" full-HD LG brand TV, personally. Couldn't be happier with it.

42" Polaroid LCD 1080p HDTV for a couple of years now. Love it, but the only problem is that my xbox is too old to have an HDMI port, so I can't use the HDMI option. #firstworldproblems

Well, I'm the first plasma guy. 42" Panasonic 1080p HDTV. I absolutely love it, and barring the fact that my room gets hot pretty fast I have no problems.

Burn in is not really an issue unless you leave the same image on for hours and hours. At least, that's what I've been led to believe...

Gaming... on T.V's ? Pc gamer reporting in...

Anyway, go for a 42" LCD or LED if possible. Plasma gets burn in, seriously it does not matter what you do with it. And it generates heat, LCD or LED is just better all around really.

I have a knackered old 12" screen TV/VHS combo in my room, so I do most of my gaming on that. But when I get the chance (i.e. My sister and her boyfriend actually leave the house) I migrate downstairs to our big-ass TV in the front-room.

I game on my itty-bitty 14" LCD HD-TV (that doesn't even have a plugin for an HD component, heh). Still, it gets the job done. I'd buy a new, bigger, better TV, but... I don't have the money.
