Ooh ooh! I know! All of the above!

Wizard Cylon Terminators with a PHD trying to rid the world of Twilight fangirls and anime creators!
I'd play that!

Battlestar the MMO would be brilliant but would also have the bizzare problem of "If it goes over 50,000-ish subscribers, that'd be more than the total population of the fleet itself".

It'd be interesting if done right away. Different roles, from pilots to military to smugglers, etc. Investigating the ruins of different places (I won't describe where incase of Battlestar the TV series spoilers). It would, however, be easy to cock up. That said, even Age of Conan shows how easy it is to cock up an MMO.
Hah! yeah I didn't think of that with battlestar! I have only just watched the 1st season. Man its good! So thanks for keeping it spoiler free there.
No worries. Also, they could alternatively do an MMO about Battlestar before the Cylon war.

Warhammer 40k would make for a great MMO.
I agree partly. I think that the 'mainstream' 40k universe, of Space Marines and nids and so on, would make a very bad MMO: there's just too much imbalance inherent within the races with the result that any MMO would have to focus exclusively on one faction (Guild Wars did it admittedly) or betray the fluff totally. Oh, and everyone would play Space Marines, and it would just get stupid very quickly.

What I think would work, however, is an MMO (maybe even an MMOFPS) set in the Necromundan Underhives (necromunda is a small scale skirmish game based on the gang warfare in the lower levels of an Imperial Hive city): given the differences in weapon preferences and physical strength between the different gangs a multiple 'race' system wouldn't be hard, although a rigid class system may not be workable. The action could possibly move out into the surrounding Ash Wastes with cobbled together vehicles for high end PVP possibly
Indeed, it would be extremely hard to balance super human Space Marines with normal humanee Imperial Guard. Still, I think it could be possible with some restrictions, or bonuses - like if an Imperial Guard player could have a squad of Cadian storm troopers with him, or some such - would still be hard to beat a marine, but hey.

Not familar with Necromunda, so can't really comment aside from "Sounds like a good idea".

Come on, a mafia MMO would be amazing.
Interesting, that might work actually. And there has been at least 1 good Mafia game (called "Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven").

I would love to see Faerun become an MMO. For those that don't know, Faerun is the setting for Forgotten Realms, a D&D Campaign Setting that I think would fit perfectly into an MMO.

They're already making an MMO out of that, sadly an MMORPG and not an MMOFPS ala Planetside like I (and many others) wish for.

Anyway, since the W40k universe is already taken, I would vote for the Starcraft universe, but that's not in the list.

Well, Interplay WANT to make one, but whether they'll get the cash they want to make it is another question.

However, this Warhammer 40k MMO is news to me! And I found a link - cheers for the info: http://kotaku.com/389784/first-proper-details-on-warhammer-40k-mmo

Starcraft would be good too, although its not as fleshed out as Warhammer 40k (and was probably inspired by Warhammer given the Zerg are the Tyranid, the Protoss are the Eldar, and the Human soliders are Space Marines).

Fallout 3 has an MMO? Well...I don't know really, but I couldn't see how It would work I mean the whole combat was centered on the V.A.T.S. and real time combat sucks. Personally I don't know how a shooter MMO would do well right now, but that's just me.

I'd go for a Mafia MMO aka The Sopranos.

Necromunda (their new site really isn't as good as the old one to be honest)

You need an "other" choice. I think the best would be a Castlevania MMO in old-school 2d.

i voted fallout, but actually, what about Drakengard?
go around, collect scattered weapons and magics?
bit of a typical MMORPG, with *Yahtzee* repetitive grind, but thats wat makes a MMO

Very much true, I reaaaaaally prefer the W40K universe, but that's probably screwed already. I mean come on, you can't beat 10 foot tall super humans who spit acid and run to battle wielding chain swords and shouting FOR THE EMPEROOOOOR to fight friggin' orcs in space (best. race. EVAH!).

A Twilight MMO?! God, I can hear the fangirls screaming already. Heaven help us should this nightmare ever come to pass.

As for me, my life is complete with the announcements of the Bioware Star Wars/Warhammer 40K mmos.
