My computer isn't the strongest out there, but I usually run on nearly maximum anyway. I have a really high tolerance for sub-10fps as long as it looks pretty :p I usually leave anti-aliasing off though, and shadows are often turned down as much as is possible without substantially lowering graphics quality. My video card has major issues with shadows for some reason, never figured out why.

On my computer, I currently play at low settings, because Vista hates me. Hoping to be able to boost it with a new processor and graphics card though. Plus, I don't run my 360 on HD.

Whatever the highest setting that will net me good performance is, as I suspect everyone else does, too. Did you expect someone to come in here and say "I always use maximum BUT I ALWAYS TURN OFF ANTIALIASING BECAUSE FUCK THAT SHIT"?

I think everyone uses the respective highest possible graphical setting.

/thread indeed.

Perhaps he means what do you compromise? Do you turn your resolution down as long as the shadows are still there? Screw anti-aliasing in favour of anisotropic filtering? Turn physics down, so you can free up power for post-processing?

There is actually no centre to the internet. There are, however, servers that carry a large portion of it, 'n' stuff (i think so, at least).
Or are there?

That bastard Nobody won't even give me a hint

I'd say like most other people "the highest before my computer starts smoking from the strain". If that's what most other people say, how should I know!?

Yeah... that's basically what I said XD Though in my case it's more because I'm usually too focused on actually playing to game to notice that the edges are a little rougher. If it means I can turn the textures and shaders up a bit higher, I'm good. o_o

Maximum for anything that isn't a crappy console port. Even Crysis.

It's not that impressive though; my monitor only goes up to 1680x1050.

I only buy a game for my PC when I can turn it up to Maximum. If I can't enjoy it at it's best quality, I'll get it for my 360 or PS3.

For console games, i play at 1280x720 or 1920x1080

For PC, I'm in the High-Max region at 1920x1080 with no AA, since AA gets redundant at that point.
