I got my First console, a sega genesis, in an N64 box, I was so excited, then I opened it, and you know what? I WAS STILL PRETTY EFFKING EXCITED, because it was my first console, you see.

I inherited an NES from a second cousin, twice removed, when she didn't want/play it anymore. This was way back in the times when the Saturn was just coming around - before it fell flat on its face - and the Playstation reigned supreme, and only in recent years have I scrambled to the top of the line for longer than a few days x-x.

The first console I actually bought myself was a Genesis 3. Loved that thing to death, stupid idea of mine to sell it when several of the games are now worth three times what they were going for then >.>

i started kinda late. I got a PS2 for Christmas one year when I was 7, the first year it came out. I asked for a PS1 but I got the latest and greatest lol. I got a game boy colour before that but the poll was for consoles.

NES here. I'll never forget my first game Crystalis.
I always forget about that game. But I remember when Gamepro briefly had their own TV show they were always giving tips out about that game.

NES. And the console came together with two games, Duck Hunt and the first Super Mario. Luckily the pistol was included.

Me and my older brother, we were so impressed with the NES, having only played with Commodore 64 before that. It was huge improvement to the eyes of a 7 year old.

Come to think of it, I don't believe I ever actually finished the game.

...

I need to find my NES.

Sticks, rocks, and imagination. The graphics were so life like that I actually thought I was being beaten with sticks and rocks by my older brother.

The first console I got was a Gameboy Pocket.
But I've played games long before that, on an Atari computer (not console) and on the PC (386 FTW!).

Technically it was the Gameboy Color and a copy of Pokemon Gold But if you don't count handhelds (I do) then it was an N64 and a copy of Super Mario 64. (I rarely played it though, I always rented Kirby and the Crystal Shards.)

good ole sega you will be missed
Here here. The Genesis was a GREAT system. I kind of wish there was more competition in the consoles nowadays.

EDIT: Oh yeah... the topic. I was forced to drool over game systems until something my dad wanted to play came out for one. Then I was allowed to get a PS1. My experience up until that point was playing other peoples' (hence how I know that I liked the Genesis). =]
