Guides =/= Cheats. Having access to an online pokédex list with locations which you can refer to is way better than spending twelve hours wandering around every patch of grass in the hope that you find the right one.

I usually try not to, but if I'm put-the-game-down-for-a-year frustrated, I'll look it up on GameFaqs.
I do that, but I don't look up cheats, After that year, I just make a new file and often I get past the point I was stuck at easily and then feel stupid for not figuring it out the first time.

That has happened to me many a time. It's usually because right before that, I put the game down for a few days and therefore don't remember exactly what I was doing.

Whichever one comes up first when I search in google.

EDIT: I also watch the insider moves and IGN things with Jessica Chobot on XBL. Even if I don't have the game.

Cheating takes the fun out of the game but I use gamefaqs for guides if I'm really stuck on something.

cheathappens.com usually have good trainers and cheats that work well. In 2 yrs. only found 1 trainer that didn't work. Walkthroughs are hit or miss tho. IGN is better for that sort of thing I believe.
