I'm certainly not one of the people who who do the computer thingy. but it highlights what sets mindcraft apart. Of course you are absolutely correct in saying that some of these concepts have been around for years.bahumat42 said:Yeah it expands the building aspects of certain games. But its only deeper. Not a new thing. Ingame buildings been around for years. It just has better tools then most.dantoddd said:I have never seen a game that offers players amount of creative freedom that minecraft. I don't know what you mean by old concepts, but i haven't see a game allows anyone to build a functioning computer inside the gameverse from the ground up.bahumat42 said:Different how?dantoddd said:I'm going to say Minecraft. It's just on a whole different level. all the other games I'm seeing on this list is just more of the same of something we've seen before. Minecraft offers something fundamentally different & revolutionary
It just takes old concepts and puts them together, quite well i've heard. But don't make stuff up to big up your game. Good job you like it. Well done you have an opinion.]
It might be worthy for GOTY (or at least some special upstart/indie award for how far they have managed to come on their own back. But not for the reasons you listed.
And dont quote that computer thing, Only like 5 people actually do that, i doubt your one of them.
In my estimation, L.A. Noire is the best Rockstar game since San Andreas, for the simple reason that it's not just a rehash of their aging sandbox formula, and the investigation elements are well-incorporated. "same thing over, and over and over" is about what GTA IV felt like, having played through four such games in seven years (and many more clones).stygN said:Really..? LA Noire?
No offense but I think that game looked pretty darn awful..
Same thing over, and over and over again..
Of course, Skyrim is pretty much same thing over, and over and over again.. But it's a better thing!
And.. Skyrim will probably have better crime solving quests then LA Noire has anyways.. : P
Yeah, probably, though epic RPGs à la Skyrim do seem to do well--one could say too well--in GOTY contests.Sharalon said:Portal 2. That is all.
ME3 got delayed. It'll probably get 2012 GOTY opposite bioshock infinite.Wenseph said:I think Skyrim or mass effect 3. The one I'm looking forward to the most is Saints row the third
