If I don't know the girl, there would have to be very significant reasons for me to bother stopping and figuring out what's going on. Obvious injury, obvious display of fear or something of the sort would be enough for me to investigate further. Otherwise, I couldn't be bothered.

Give her a hug and calm her. When I cry, everyone leaves me alone which I hate. I just want to be held!

(I may sound kind of bitter tonight, my bad.)
May I ask what makes tonight suck so much?
Allergies, eye hurts a ton. It's keeping me awake and making me pissy. Nothing relationship related. Sorry for being uninteresting.

depending how well i'd knew this person be it guy or girl i'd talk to them, give my outlook and advice and hopefully cheer them up

If it were a stranger i'd probably do the same as well, if no one was willing to see if this person was okay i'd go but if a group of people were already helping and such i'd probably walk on by

(wow, been awhile since i've last posted... about time i found a thread worth posting on)

Lol it's not "uninteresting". My whole family suffer from allergies, and it does suck. :( I hope you get better soon. At least over here we're heading into winter, you're pretty much in the thick of spring :S

I'd probably make creepy eye contact and edge slowly in towards her, clapping my hands erratically while making beeping noises till she stops... That or talk to her, that could work too.

To be truly honest, I can't talk to girls normally, so I'd try my best to comfort her and end up sounding weird.

Well, If she is someone who know and she has good reason to cry, there is no way for me to just walk away.

I'd try to talk, but I never really know how to open that kind of conversation. I've tried, but rarely succeed.

Ignore it out of social anxiety.
This. It would be such an awkward situation, I won't know what to say, "How are you?" would probably be my first line and the answer is pretty clear that she isn't good.

That said, I would do marginally better if the girl was Christian, then at least I could direct her attention to encouraging Bible verses.

So yeah, I'd just ignore any girl crying.

I'd talk to them even if it's not a "legitimate" reason. I wouldn't ask "are you okay?" The obvious answer is always no. So I'd ask "what's up?" If they open up, or seem to want to ultimately, I'll stick around. If they don't want to talk, you can't force it on them.

Unless it's happy crying. It's often easy to discern. In which case I'd probably make a generic happy comment (about the weather or the like) and keep moving, or if they're someone I know well, settle down and silently accompany them.

If there was no one else there I'd go up and ask what's wrong. If it was a room full of people but no one moved to do anything for a while, then I'd go and ask her what's wrong (to clarify, I'd wait to see if anyone came, then I'd go talk to her.)

It's all dependent on her looks there, though. It may sound shallow, but hey, I like my women pretty...
hate to say it but the same goes for me
