I'm torn between Dragon Quest 10 and Final Fantasy 15. With my limited experience of the DQ franchise, if I've missed it all this time, it's because I'm not patient when it comes to new releases of things that matter. And since the last one took five years to release after it's predecessor, I'm hoping they can get this next one done soon enough.

As for FF15, history tells me this will be the one to shut up the nay-sayers who made up their own genre and finally prove once and for all that Square Enix are capable of learning from their mistakes. Final Fantasy 3 was the first instalment to be better than average, and it followed up a game where just talking to someone slowed the progression down dramatically. And, of course, there was number 9, which followed on from no. 8 which had not just the most idiotic characters ever devised, but a borderline broken battle system to boot. 2, 8 and 13 were all atrocious in their own ways, and they learned from their mistakes each time. I know it's a different team making them now, but a different team made 12 and that turned out okay as far as I can tell.

Kingdom Hearts 3. As of Birth By Sleep they've built a number of characters into a cast capable of standing on its own with no further support from Final Fantasy. Let's see some more crazy Keyblade action.

I would like to see them cleansed in a fire that burns all the people responsible for X-2.

Hrm... a good idea would be nice. Perhaps a project to get back in touch with what the gaming community wants.

Other than that.. im going to lob an oddball and say.. I want a modern incarnation of Bushido blade.

Next-gen remake of Final Fantasy 6. Kefka's awesomeness is too great to be confined only to sprites.
I'm inclined to agree with ReservoirAngel on this Kefka's Awesomeness is TOO great to be confined to 2D sprites.

A suicide note?

Nono, okay... Something outside of this box they've built around themselves would be nice. Maybe something stripped-down, closer to home? Not everything has to be an overblown world-saving quest/coming of age story... Maybe, if they're gonna keep beating down the RPG path, have more of a focus on a few strong characters instead of a sprawling cast of flimsy archetypes? I'd suggest switching up gameplay, although change in that areas hasn't historically been for the better.. Hrm.

It's hard to say. Their stagnation is often remarked upon or railed against, and overcoming that is gonna take something spectacular and--chances are--different.

...Actually, how's this: something akin to Dwarf Fortress, with Bay 12's depth and scope and Square-Enix's intricate presentation and environments? Damn. Pride aside, I would play that so hard.

I recently played through an old game on the SNES that, if I remember correctly is made by Enix. I'd love to see Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen remade in a way that I could understand more of the game and not end up being called worse than the monster that gets summoned as the end boss.

New idea would be nice but seriously, who can resist the calling of a next gen Final Fantasy VII Remake?

I'd like to see FFVXIII not being a disappointment like XIII was(and I actually like FFXIII). If it's going to be a sandbox Action RPG with elements from older Final Fantasy games while still feeling fresh, please actually make it a sandbox ARPG with elements from older FF games while still feeling fresh.

Other than that, I'd like to see a new IP RPG from them. Don't get me wrong, I love sequels of good games, but it just doesn't take much originality when most of the cast is still there. Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest are exempt because they always have different casts of characters.

Bring me more updated Final Fantasy so I can hide more in small rooms with the lights out and away from the real world.

Must... 100%... game...
*eyes widen*

Yeah. That'd be my choice ^^

A notice of closure.

Why? They have too high an opinion of themselves.
"Before its launch, Michihiro Sasaki, senior vice president of Square Enix, spoke about the PlayStation 3, saying "We don't want the PlayStation 3 to be the overwhelming loser, so we want to support them, but we don't want them to be the overwhelming winner either, so we can't support them too much.""
-quoth the wiki

And from FFXIII director Motomu Toriyama:
"We think many reviewers are looking at Final Fantasy XIII from a western point of view. When you look at most Western RPGs, they just dump you in a big open world, and let you do whatever you like? [It] becomes very difficult to tell a compelling story when you?re given that much freedom."

Lulz, lulz and lulz. They could keep making their little games and I wouldn't care. My problem is that they bought out Eidos and Eidos published some good games. If Eidos cannot exist on its own, then it should be given an honorary cremation rather than have its life drained slowly.
