Anyways, a simple question, and one I have not seen asked before [small](Oddly enough)[/small], what type of Xbox 360 model do you own?

I have a Halo 3 Special Edition that I purchased in some store in Alberta in a town that smelled heavily of Canola Oil, I've had it since then [small](Obviously around the time Halo 3 was released)[/small] and have had literally zero problems with it, no overheating [small](Unless I use it for too long, obviously)[/small], no RRoD, and no spontaneous game scratching or summoning of dark Elder Gods, etc. Overall, I'd say that I've had a fairly enjoyable experience with it.

So do tell, what type of 360 do you own, and what stories do you have to tell of it?

Also, don't point out to me that I'm missing a certain special edition model or anything, because that's all the room for polls that there is.

[small](And please, don't turn this into a MW2/H3/RE5 bashing thread)[/small]

got a brand new holiday bundle elite 360 in early February

if I had known about the super elite bundle prior to going out, I would have saved up the extra hundred and gotten that, but c'est la vie

arcade.
It's all I could afford.
But with my luck, three months later the price of the elite dropped to the price I payed for the arcade. Head, meet desk.

Looks like I was the second one to vote.

I got mine last summer after I got out of college for the semester.

I got it at a Game Stop. For 430 dollars I got a boxed bundle of an Elite that included Halo 3 and Fable 2, a mic and the HD cable and the normal cables, and of course a controller. Included in that amount I got a three month card for Xbox Live.

Edit:
Funny story: The week before I got mine, I went into that Game Stop and saw that they were selling the Halo 3/Fable 2 bundle, when I got the money and went back a week later, I didn't see the posters up and didn't see the Halo 3/Fable 2 bundle anywhere in the store. All I saw was Kung Fu Panda/Lego Indiana Jones bundles. So I asked the guy if he had any of the Halo 3/Fable 2 bundles left. He frowned and went in the backroom and came back with one. I asked him why they didn't have them in the front anymore. He sighed, "We were trying to get rid of the Kung Fu Panda ones."

Sneaky Game Stop, trying to hide stuff from me. I know what they are up too, they can't fool me.

I got myself one of the Halo editions when I was a Halo fan. Now that Im not really a fan of the series anymore,I just have it for the "Look what I got and you dont!" factor since Im an asshole like that. It got the RRoD last February though, so its mainly used as a dust collector now

You pretty much need a hard drive with a 360... I had a harddriveless 360 for about a year, and I was a sad sad creature for most of it.

I now understand the reason they even sell Arcades... they're for people whose xbox is out of warranty and broke.. because it's really the only market I can see that wouldn't be disappointed with it...

I bought a 20gb hard drive for my old 360 for 70 dollars (back when that was actually what 20gb HDDs were selling for, now they're considerably less). For 30 more dollars tacked onto the price of that and my arcade, I could have had a 120gb drive, a better constructed machine, and a game or 2 thrown in (They really needed to make a fallout 3 bundle for 360... if there was one when I got my latest 360, even 2 years after fallout 3 came out, I would have bought it)... it sells itself..

the same sort of thing stands now.. if you're going for an elite, if you can hold off for a week or two to shore up the extra hundred dollars, you get a 250gb HDD, a game, an extra controllers, and a free subscription to XBL.. easily worth more then the 100 dollars extra...

Those microsoft guys are crafty devils.

I own the x-box 360 elite edition. The one where the case is painted black.

In November of 2008 it did red ring on me, but I sent it to Microsoft and it was fixed. Good as new, it hasn't given me any trouble since.

I think I got it back in October of 2007 but I am not to sure of what the actual date was though.

The only problems I have had with mine is not because of it, but because of my University.

If they decide that I have been using too much bandwidth, they will throttle down or totally shut off my internet for a day. When they do that if freezes my 360 and when I turn it on again I can't sign into Live.

I got the regular arcade on December 27,2008 since it was all I could afford.
When I got it the guy told me not to dropkick it down the stairs.
Good thing too 'cause I was panning on doing that as soon as I got home.

I got the standard one, And it was my baby, Then it RRoD'd, And i got a new one (thanks Microsofty!) and ive put a 120gb HDD on my Xbox now, So i have space again.

But in all fairness, Bigger HDD & Paint job are all that separate Elite from Normal anyway.

I don't know about the status right now, but there was a time, when they were still selling the old "Breaky Breaky Made a Mistakey" models as Arcade, and putting the new "Built Ford Strong" Jasper models as Elites.

So if you bought an arcade, you were buying a system that was put together with superglue and duct tape, figuratively speaking.

They may have upgraded so that all of the SKUs use the same motherboard configuration, but honestly, I doubt it. It makes too much sense to sell only good systems that I'm sure they've overlooked it somehow.

I love my resident evil special edition (I only got it because it was red :p), haven't had any problems with it in the year or so I've had it.

Seeing how the Elite is going to be the only real model offered soon, the poll will begin to tip somewhat in its favor.
