Poll: What you were like (or are like) as a teenager.

Sounds like the definition of a pushy parent. I know way too many of those.
Heh, I wish my senior year would have almost no classes. I'm one of those super-over-achiever types, and having already mostly planned all the classes I'll be talking, they're all AP courses. Fun.

My senior year was as follows.
AP Calculus BC (I'm really good at math so this was less of an issue than it might seem).

Study Hall 1

Forensics (an elective where an example project would be making a video pretending to murder our friend then solve the case).

English (Senior English is movie analysis. Best class ever).

Study Hall 2

Lunch (aka Study Hall 3) (so basically double period lunch every day which was awesome)

AP Biology (The teacher in this class was kind of a pushover which made me dick around more than I should have. Towards the end of the year I started trying harder in it though. This is actually a pretty tough class for the worst reasons. Too much memorization. That's why I like Chem and Physics much more. I had already taken AP Chem and they didn't run AP Physics that year)

Study Hall 4 (aka its the last period of the day, I'm going home early)

Recently, I was threatened with being kicked out the house for refusing to cut my hair. What, why? I felt rebellious that day.

I remember when you told me about that! I'm still not quite sure of the logic behind her threat. I mean, your hair barely exists as it is. Waiting a little longer isn't going to turn it into some sort of crazy afro-thing, haha.

I laughed in her face. Who does she think she is? Trying telling me how long my hair is gonna be. Gawd, that entertained me enough to be rebellious. But afterwards, I felt like I wasted too much energy on her. I am that lazy.

Believe me, I know you are. It seems like you become lazier and lazier as time passes. You need to actually make an effort to get out of this rut...rather than just saying you will...pff.

I need to start some more fires or something.

As do I. This is my one real chance to do something crazy and not have to explain it any further than, "Well hey, I'm a teen!" and I'm wasting it with silly things like keeping my grades disgustingly high and doing volunteer work. Damn.

I was quietly subversive. I felt, and still feel, that my parents were good people, just not necessarily right all the time. Mostly on the issue of religion. But I felt that open rebellion would be stressful, taxing, and in the end pointless. So I went to church when they went, read the Bible when they asked, and even stayed at Christian summer camps when they payed for it. It's that decision that's allowed me to maintain a good relationship with them, even to this day.

You guys don't get off periods? It seems kind of pointless to have to put it as a study hall. At my school, if you're a senior, you can just sign up for an off period and not have to show up.
I took AP Biology last year (Sophomore year); our teacher was amazing. My super-nerdiness is showing, but it was the best class ever, even with all the work, since it was both fascinating (I love biology) and entertaining (he told really good perverted jokes, haha).

Study Hall just means "Free Period". You don't actually have to report anywhere. I usually hung out in the library, sat outside on the MEGA BENCH (we stole 5 benches and arranged them in such a way that it was basically one really big double ended sofa), or went home early, depending on the period and the weather.

since my sister was a very rebellious type, i decided to be the reasonable one. i saw what my sister did to the family and really didn't want to do that to my parents again.

my teenage years were pretty dull, spent reading comics and playing video games at the arcade ( mortal kombat 1 and 2 made life bearable).

I actually apologized to my father the other day for not doing enough to prepare him for the phase my sister is beginning. I never did go through the "rebel" phase or the "I'm smarter than everyone phase". I am now seeing my sister go through both and basically just looking onwards, hoping it'll end soon. It won't, as she's only 13 now. O_O

me and my parents usualy get along. by dint of not meeting verry often and not discussing about a lot of things.
their too stupid to understand half im talking about, i aint flat enough to sympathise with their way of thinking. -but before teenager-ness this was verry different and i had a normal happy relationship with them-

now though, il act like one of those remora cleaning fish, and hang on to other people and their parents XD

I was a very good kid, because of my brothers and sisters. I just wanted my mom to have one kid that she could point to and say 'That's my child! I am happy I gave birth to him. I am truly proud of him.' Instead of the usual 'Yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhh *sigh* can I just pretend that isn't my kid.'
Mind you being the best kid in my family is sorta like being in a beauty contest where the only other competitors are Steve Buscemi, John Waters, The Elephant Man, and a victim of a horrific industrial accident.

I wish my friend (Cheery Lunatic around here, if anyone knows her) would take a lesson from some of you sensible people with siblings. I swear, the only way her family communicates is by yelling. I think her figurative beauty contest would be even worse.

Ah, I know how you feel, in a way. My dad is very, very Catholic, as is his side of the family in general. Personally, I'm not religious. I wouldn't go so far as to call myself a complete atheist, but you get the idea. We somehow managed to stop going to church (partly because Mum's basically just a deist) but I still have to deal with him trying to convince me of Christianity whenever the subject comes up. I know he means well, and it's not as if I disrespect his beliefs, but it's come to where I have to hide a lot of my personal thoughts to keep them from disrupting our relationship. His family still thinks I'm Catholic, and I play the part when I need to.

I generally get along with my parents, though we do tend to run against each other often, especially when I'm made to do something I don't want to.

I keep to myself, don't talk to my parents a lot, they don't mind as long as I talk sometimes, they prefer me keeping out the way I assume, especially when my brothers the complete opposite.

My parents think I'm rebellious but that's because I don't enjoy fishing and hunting. *_*
I don't disrespect my parents, I do more than my share of work around the house, work a fulltime job, and play tennis. So I'd say I'm reasonable.

I never fight with my parents and the only trouble I ever got in was when my friends neighbor called the cops on him for riding his dirtbike in his backyard and the cop was like "you (my friend) have to stop riding your dirtbike all the time, and you (me) have to stop doing... well, um, you were there"

I would like to think that I am more reasonable than most Republicans at least, although my views might seem to be slightly rebellious as I am communist. Also I am proud to say that I am considered to be very smart, and its not just me that thinks it.
