I decided to make this thread because I'm curious. It seems that most of the sites I go on most of the people are either high schoolers or in their early 20s. Me being in my mid 30s, it's so hard to meet people in my age range that are anime fans. I mean I've been watching anime well before it became well known. So most people I talk to have very little knowledge on the medium. Please share you're thoughts. Thanks!

I'm turning 20 this year, and I've been watching anime since I was about 5. While I can't say I've been watching anime since before it became big in the U.S. (My first anime was Pokemon), I have seen quite a large number of anime over the years. Maybe not much from the early 90s or 80s, but quite a lot, and I'm interested in most anime from any era.
26, I was fully exposed to anime during the Tooami era (I have seen a few animes before that but I didn't know those were animes).
I was REALLY into anime when I was in school and college. Proper marathons and everything. I still am but I have so much free time because lol unemployed lol I don't DO anything with it since I have more time later right?

I'm 25, and believe it or not the first anime I ever saw was Excel Saga. Then Chobits. I...can't say that I'm an otaku anime master like I should be. There's months that'll go by where I don't watch any of it, then I'll binge and catch up whole series all at once. I should probably watch more of it, but the amount that releases is absolutely staggering. Especially considering that I understand Japanese and can watch the stuff that isn't dubbed/subbed. I think it's the price, really, because I already spend a lot on video games. If I spent as much on anime as I do on video games, I might as well smoke crack on a toilet made of gold.
I'm 18, anime's had something of a presence all throughout my life, but I didn't get INTO IT until I was about 14. I feel like anime didn't really hit it big in the United States until the 90's, so it would make sense that there's something of a generational gap there, but don't worry, from what I've seen there's plenty of Anime Fans your age floating around on this site.
Anime is a medium...anyway...I'm 25 and there are several manga and, anime series I enjoy. I don't know what my most recent one is that I'm into but it's probably Detroit Metal City from...I dunno, 2010, 2011? My all-time favorite anime is a toss-up between GTO and, Fist of the North Star closely followed by Love Hina and Demon King Daimou (which had a SHITTY, SHITTY ENDING).

21/22 I've always being a casual fan till about 18 when my friends got a little more into. First show I ever finished was Mai-Hime. I try to watch a little bit of everything from "classics" like Utena to parodies like Dai Mahou Touge to really anything some says is decent.
Currently 20, I suppose you could say I started watching Anime (Pokemon, DBZ, Yu-gi-oh) when I was 5-6 but I didn't really start watching anything else until I was about 13 when I started watching Death Note.

22 here, and have been a fan for 2 years now, back when my brother recommend I watch a little something called Cowboy Bebop. I do feel in a couple of years or so I might be too old to go to anime specific conventions, so I'm making the rounds now while I still can.
I don't think I can call myself an anime fan, but there are some anime shows I love, mostly classic stuff (now classic stuff).

My favorite anime are Ghost in the Shell, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood and Eden of the East. My favourite manga is Kaze no Tani no Nausikaa.
