We all love spending a lot of time on our favourite games. And we all love games that take us a while to finish, because it means we get more time with the game. Assuming you've ever actually beaten a game, how long (in game time rather than real time) have you taken to finish the longest game you've beaten, and what game was that?

Personally? Pokemon Black Version, at 32 hours over about two months. And I'm really hoping that Deus Ex 3 will take me longer than that, if I ever end up beating it.

Edit: Some people appear to have missed the point. What I want to know is how long you spent playing the game, NOT INCLUDING HIATUSES. So if you get sidetracked from a game, then the time you spend not playing it or starting over from the start doesn't count.

Most good Jrpgs go from around 40 hours and reach up to well over 100 though you do see the end before that part. I think Persona 3: FES was my highest due to it's epilogue, adding a good 20-30 hours to an already 70-90 hour game, which whichever way you look at it was the actual ending of the game, despite the way it was added upon it.

So yeah, I clicked the last option, even without FES I remember taking over 80 hours just for The Journey's part.

I clocked over 100+ hours in Oblivion before I finished it.

Playing around with mods I strayed well off the main quest path.

For me it would be Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. That game took me roughly 110 hours to fully complete the main story on my first play through. It just kept going and going and I loved every minute of it. I still havn't managed to do the bonus dungeon at the end though...

As far as games that I have completed I really have no idea. I have about 120 hours clocked into advanced wars dual strike but I never finished the campaign.

Generally ~50 hours for FFXII and FFXIII. One of my FFXII games lasted well over 200 hours.

Also, Total War campaigns can take a very long time to finish.

Took me years(really) to finish Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine... Mostly because I couldn't speak English at the time and therefor missed some important clues.

25+ years to finally beat the original Ninja Gaiden.

Fuck you, final stage, and your restart at the beginning even though there's three boss fights with no health recovery at all. Fuck you right in your cheap ass.

FFX took me like 100 hours the first time I played it. I got a lot of the uber weapons and all the summons and everything. My Dragon Age Origins games tend to be really long too because I like to do a ton of side stuff as well.

technically the clock is still ticking on some of the games I have. I have never finished the main story line of GTA:4, Condemned, Prototype and a couple of others. I imagine I'll finish them...sometime.

Never finished Morrowind. I found this nice farming mod and thus just settled down on my own farm and let the world decide it's own fate without my intervention.

I'm pretty sure I've put over a 100 hours into FO:NV by now and still haven't ever finished it....

Will be doing all three DLC this week, or at least I'll be starting on them.

I'm guessing it may be 250 hours before I see the ending. I'll probably delay so I can get the 4th DLC release before I finish.

90 in New Vegas (spent 40 of those just trying to put off making the main choice), 80 in Borderlands, and 50 in GTA4. Everything else falls below 35.

Fallout 3 on my final playthrough took me around 120 hours; I pretty much mapped out the entire wasteland, did all the DLC and gathered all the items on offer before finishing Broken Steel and getting to the end. Now though I can't get back into it.

Leet, my friend, look about you... you really don't need to say things like that! =P

OT: Probably Morrowind, got so caught up in that game I'm sure I clocked up about 100+ hours before I came around to finishing the main story.

Most games (even Fallout3/Oblivion) fall in the 30-50hr region.

Not counting any of the TW titles as they don't really have 'endings'.

I think I play around 60 hours before beating Morrowind. And then afterwards I played about another 70+ hours just doing shit in the game's world. I REALLY don't want to go back to those days...

150+ hours should be an option. I spent most of my 10 days on Fallout 3 doing Sidequests and getting Achievements and making new files. I never completed the last mission because I didn't have Broken Steel. Only a few days ago I did, and I must have made at least 7 characters played until level 20 and all but 6 Achievements. I'm a Fallout addict...
