I would be amazed in anyone could beat Persona 3 or 4 in under 75 hours. I was in the hundreds each time.
Oh, right, completely forgot about that. Yeah, I played Persona 3, and it took a LONG time to beat. I think I spent at least 75 hours to beat it. I was sick and had nothing else to do, so I spent an entire 3-day weekend just to finish it.

I spent over 200+ hours in both oblivion and fallout 3 before I ended up getting back to the main quest.

Wut 75+ hours? I suspect some games have taken me beyond the 1000 hour mark. But who keeps counting when it takes many years real time? ;-)

Ultima V, and Bard's Tale III were probably some of the most time consuming ones. In real time I think some of the old Infocom adventures hit the record, with 10 years from purchase to completion but the effective game time of those are pretty low in comparison.

Most replays probably goes to the original Civilization, well beyond 100 games. Damn you Sid and your "1 more turn" philosphy.

Of games newer than 2000 I guess GTA:SA was one of the longest. That game just never seemed to stop, and it was a fun ride all the way.

Some great time stealers that couldn't quite make the top of the list:
Grim Fandango, The Longest Journey, BG1 and BG2, X-Com:Terror from the deep.

*Insert comment about short attention span of the youth, and superficial modern games*
*Also bottom of a frozen lake*

FFX around 48 hours.
Ratchet and Clank 1 around 60 hours.
Oblivion 120 hours and 43 minutes.
Pokemon Silver 150 hours
but the game that takes the cake on taking in most of my life would be FFXIII.
FFXIII took me a good 250+ hours to beat AND get all the achievements for.
it. was. evil.
I wanted to get the most out of my $60, but i didn't.
instead, i got a game with an okay storyline and a horrible battle engine.
*sigh*

Well, my current playthrough of Fallout: New Vegas is now nearing its 124th hour of play, and it's still not quite near being done because I'm waiting on Lonesome Road to come out before I wrap everything up. Me and my Courier want to know what Ulysses' deal is, and I wouldn't be surprised if we end up having to push it to over 150 hours before we're done.

I remember when a game lacking 99 hours of game play was considered ripping people off, and there was worries over video game renters beating games if they were too short. I typically finish all side game play before finishing a game the first time, but I've beaten games multiple times with over 80 hours of main story game play.

I've spent probably around 40 hours on some Dragon Age and New Vegas save files before completion, but I don't really keep track of time very well.
