Most expensive was about £36 for Wolfenstein: The New Order, which I got off Amazon two days after it came out.
I rarely get games this close to release but in the case of Wolfenstein (a game which I've been looking forward to all year) I was happy to make an exception. And by jove was it worth it!

I grabbed Watchdogs at launch for about $50AUD ($46.66USD). I feel that price was fair for what I got.

The most expensive game I bought recently was Drakengard 3 on the PS3 store for £39.99.
However im Welsh and awesome so I think the correct conversion was 60$ full priced AAA game.

So far I don't regret it, it's a pretty fun game.

Got myself a copy of Doom 64 for ?8 a few weeks ago. I've got plenty of backlog to keep me busy and there's nothing that I feel I must have getting released in the near future, so yeah, it's been slow.

Watch Dogs - $80 AU

Mario Kart 8 - $69 AU

Australia, where our prices are bloated beyond imagine.

$65 for a board game - Eldritch Horror. Turned out to be somewhat of a waste- all cheap cardboard pieces.

$20 (though kinda $15, since I had currency left over from another purchace)
And yes, it was Transistor so I don't regret a thing. I'll pay full price for a game I really want to play. It wasn't until I joined GOG.com did I learn the magic of 99 cent sells.

I haven't bought anything in over a month, but at the end of April I got from PSN:

Gex
Spyro 2
Jurassic Park (Telltale)
Red Faction
Red Faction 2
Sam & Max (bundle)
Tokyo Jungle
Crash Bandicoot
Crash 2
Crash 3
Tales of Monkey Island (bundle)

All for 99 cents each. So $10.89 total.
Oh man! Lucky duck, those are some good games right there.
Hmm, that was a strange 404 just now. Anyway, I really lucked out with PSN's 99 cents sale in April. I'm not disappointed with any of them.

Well, except for Tales of Monkey Island just a little bit. The script keeps the voice actors rambling ON and ON.

Ironically, the most expensive new acquisition this month was a free game through origins... so yeah...
To clarify, I am getting married next month so all gaming related expenses are on hold. But from August on I might pick a few games here and there, not full priced, I'll take advantage of steam offers.

If you could convert the poll into your home pricing scheme that would be great. So if you're Welsh (and awesome) then £49.99 for Dragon Age: Inquisition counts as $60 even though it's more expensive. Particularly relevant for the unfortunate Australians and their inflated game prices.

I'd like to run this poll periodically and see how things change. I'm interested in our consumer patterns in an age with an endless source of incredibly cheap games. I can't remember the last time I bought a full priced AAA launch game. It might have been Heavy Rain or Uncharted 3? Even a $20 indie game would feel steep to me now.

For me £4.99 for Dragon Age II was my most expensive purchase this month (I also bought Far Cry 3 and Spec Ops for the same price)
I'm Welsh and awesome!

As for purchases, I very rarely buy full price games - the last one was Rome II and that's one of the very few games I would ever buy full price. I'll usually wait for a studio release to get down to £10-15 or so (maybe £20 if I'm excited about it).

Last purchase was, oh wow, more than a month ago. £6.35 which was the BioShock Infinite DLC I think? Which I've not yet played.
Yeaah.... I've been bogged down in Minecraft recently. I have responsibilities to my villagers!

Dark Souls 2 Black Armour Edition for 30 eur.

It's not that expensive a game, even new. Doesn't really fit into your categories.

I managed to pick up Watch_dogs on the day it came out for £30, which I thought was an absolute bargain, especially because I have had a hell of a lot of fun with it. That has been my most expensive purchase, but I have also bought Kirby triple deluxe brand new for £25, Grand theft auto V brand new for £20 (you had to pick me up from the floor when I saw that price tag, the cheapest I have seen it second hand for £25 and £30 new) and today I got Dead space 2 for £5. I plan on having no social life for the next few months as I also plan on picking upThe Evil within when that comes out later on in the year, as well as Murdered:Soul suspect. I will be getting a hell of a lot of use out of my PS3 in the coming months, that's for sure.

I preordered the new Amplitude game, at $20. That was my most expensive game purchase in a good long while.

I allow myself one $60 game a year.
...Last year's was Battlefield 4, though I regretted it almost immediately.
2012's game was Far Cry 3, which was awesome, as was Skyrim, 2011's full-priced purchase.

Though I've been sort-of splurging this year with a few ~$20 indie games at launch, since they looked really fun (Strike Vector and Cloudbuilt). Even full-priced indie purchases are rare, though.

Most purchases are in the form of bundles, though there are so many of those that I skip them unless there are at least two games that I was interested in beforehand (or if some of the games look *really* compelling). I've been interested in Eterium, but passed on the Indie Royale bundle because nothing else in it interested me.

You might be getting skewed results towards $60 AAA from the Nintendo fan boys like me who got Mario Kart. The only time I ever buy a full priced AAA title seems to be when I am getting a Nintendo game. Ask me again in a month and my answer would probably be $15 or less.

Mario Kart 8 at full price.

Except it comes with a $25 Dell.com "gift card" code and the launch-period free game being New Super Mario Bros U, which I have with Luigi U on-disc and will trade-in for around $20 at Best Buy. So the net of that is...

Mario Kart 8 for effectively $20.

IMO, immediately after a big release is probably the best time to ask this question.

In the slower months, sure, a ton of people didn't buy anything expensive. But in the last month we've had Wolfenstein, Watch Dogs, Mario Kart, and we're not too far past Dark Souls 2. All of which are likely to pull people out of the woodwork to buy a full-priced game.

I voted that I bought nothing... but that's not entirely true. I finally got around to gifting Supreme Commander gold edition to my brother for $5.

Before that... I did a little consumer IT work for someone with a paypal wallet in April, and she bought me Rimworld for $30... I guess that would fall under *very* expensive indie.

30 Euro's for No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise, which is ironic since I found killer is Dead for 20 euro's. Oh well, I love both games so it's money well spend.
