Hey, you left out Starfox 2!
I've played all of these on the list except Zero, and my pick for worst is Command.
The original is a classic, if one that's aged in a mediocre way. 2 is...A weird experiment, but it's alright. 64 and it's remaster are both good. Adventures isn't even a real star fox game, it's more of a zelda clone. It's just BARELY alright, and if not for other sins the worst game committed, it would take the worst spot. ESPECIALLY with that anticlimax at the ending. Assault is DAMN good, if a little short (seriously, 5 more missions, with 3 of them being only-arwing missions and have some of those extra missions be branches in the story mode and it would have been perfect).
Command, though? Blech. At first it's ok. There's tactical depth to it. And you get excited whenever you get a new fighter so you can see what their style is. ...Then eventually you realize that every single goddamn mission is exactly the same, and half the fighters are either samey, or shit. There's the multi-lock guys, there's the twinlaser guys with lock-on, there's Krystal and Bill who have no lock-on at all and have no redeeming qualities (and Kat), you have one or two who have fun gimmicks like Panther and Leon. Eventually the game just feels like the same mission over and over with a few pieces swapped around.
And finally, the story...GOD I hate the story, and it takes it from "Blech" to "No really, you're way worse than Adventures now". Seriously, they made you do the "canon" path first, which is the most boring and stupid one and involves Fox dealing with (or actually, REFUSING to deal with) his relationship issues, and ends with a sudden
and is just generally boring as hell. And only THEN can you even try to do some of the more fun endings, most of which are just mediocre with maybe a handful of standouts, and again, most of them feel like the same game again and again with only a FEW paths standing out (like Falco's almost-purely-solo path). That story component is what takes the game down from "just below mediocre" to "BAD". It's no wonder Zero was a reboot, they goofed it up that much.
BTW, what I mean about the anticlimax for Adventures, I mean the
That was just some SERIOUS BS.

"Psyche, Krystal just abandons him again to fly with the Wolves!"

"The villain cannot enter Krezoa temples because he's evil...PSYCHE, he's in the last one! Time to fight this super menacing villain! *his health bar appears, and you approach him* PSYCHE, someone else kills him, you don't get to fight this villain you were hoping to square off with! ...PSYCHE, ANDROSS IS THE REAL VILLAIN, JUMP INTO THE ARWING, HAHAHA"
