Why the fuck do people ***** about the new Pokemon so much?

You can't compare the 1st gen to the 5th gen. There is too much of a technology and time gap!
Each generation is good in it's own way.

You do realize that one of the first gen was a racist stereotype, another was a mime, and three of the grass lines were giant flowers, right? That and the original Magmar looked like a water baby (which is highly ironic), mewtwo looked like he was constipated, and charizard looked like he had down syndrome.

I wish I knew the thread this was in, or I'd just quote myself from it, but suffice to say, the team jumped the shark long before that. Every generation has bad pokemon designs. Perhaps if they didnt have to keep redesigning old pokemon, they could come up with new and better ones.

I really liked Charizard's, Mewtwo's, and Vileplume's design, thank you. I don't think you can begrudge them for making a lot of Pokemon based off of nature; there are lots of flowers in nature, too. Do you step outside, see a rose, and shout: "ANOTHER Flower?! Real original, God!"?

Anyways, it's not just the icecream pile. Aside from the Legendaries and Zoroark, I don't really find any of the designs appealing. And Zoroark is just because I have a fox fetish.

The fact that I don't like Serperior, when my snake fetish is FAR more developed than my fox fetish, is saying something.

Post ANY Pokemon from gen 5 that you think I'll enjoy and try and surprise me. I just... Really don't like a lot of them.

Oh, I forgot, thunder zebra is an EXCEPTION that proves the rule.

OT: It's been one, long, slow downhill for Pokemon ever since Silver and Gold. Sure, they have all had some great parts to them, but overall, it's belly up for Pokemon.

People have been saying that since fucking Pokemon Blue, sir. It really doesn't make you look cool, edgy, or "informed" to say that Pokemon is "belly up". Pokemon is going to last quite some time from now, and whom knows what the next generation will look like?

Personally, I'm intrigued.

Besides, all the fish pokemon are running together, the dragons are losing any sense of difference from each other, and any of the human-shape pokemon look pretty much the same.

And thats good for you. There are people that like the new designs. So see where the hypocrisy comes in? You want to complain that the new pokemon suck, when really thats all perspective. Half of the pokemon from R/B/Y looked like each other and werent evolutionary. I dont get why you 151ers and 251ers always have to rain on people's parades over new pokemon. Dont like em, dont play. We wont miss you in games. And I can guarantee my Blaziken beats the shit out of your Charizard. Or my Empoleon would fuck up your Feraligatr

I miss the old days when people didnt troll. There's quite a difference between stating an opinoin, then following up by arguing someone else's opinion. You cant disprove the otherside without saying its your opinion. There's someone out there who thought an ice cream pokemon would be good. I do think that Pokemon has been leaning a bit too much on the overly cutesy side in recent games. We need more cool Pokemon: Put the MONster part back in Pokemon.

So, those giant monstrosities on the game covers. They don't count or something? Not to mention that lots of them start of small and cute, and then evolve into some giant badass monster. You know, like they have in every single generation?

It's off topic, but I agree completely. Everyone should already know it's an opinion just because that's what opinions sound like. Not putting in a completely redundant and stupid "IMO" doesn't mean you think your opinions are fact. Saying "This is not opinion, this is fact." or some variant means you think your opinions are fact. The point was that you statement about Pokémon being belly up is as silly as the statement that PC gaming is dying. Since you want to talk about opinions being opinions and the world keeps turning, you not liking new games doesn't mean the franchise is dying. Here's a little tidbit of news: Black and White's combined sales for just their launch day here in the US were over 1 million copies, which is apparently a new record. And that's not counting their success. If you think that's a franchise that's dying, what does it have to do to be considered alive and well? But yeah, if you say so, Pokémon will be over there happily going belly up on that giant pile of cash it just made from its newest installments.

With Trick Room support, he'd be a king at stomping ubers. Useless outside of that though.

You mean like Grass, Ground, and Flying types? Yeah, be a shame if he went up against them.

Also, its Speed EVs can be put in at 252, then split the other 252 evenly over both defenses or hp. He'll destroy all your oversized lizards.

Also, it outspeeds Druddigon, with its base 48 speed. So you're wrong right there.
