ya as much as the bibal study teachers disagree for america war is good
we made this country on war with england
world war 2 kicked us into hyperdrive and i love the way yahtzee put it "ever since then it has been one long search for a worthy enemy" maybe not exact quote but it works
I think the problem is that amercia THINKS it's a long search for a worthy enemy but since WOII you didn't won anything. (even though i wouldn't call WOII an american victory since the germans kind off destroyed themself)
vietnam was a total failure so they just threw napalm on some poor city's. (and they still lost the war)
And iraq? i'd call it a draw. they have aren't exactly winning or losing, but they are WASTING HUMAN LIVES without accomplishing allot.
but England and Russia would not have won without american supplies and if they would not have kept the Japanese busy then they would have lost anyway
vietnam i cant disagree
but i hate when people say that about the iraq war "throwing away lives" thats such shit take any war anybody has ever had and then you would have to take iraq loses times like 10 then you might get that wars casulities i mean hell we lost more lives in the normandy landings than in the entire iraq war
The UK and Russia could have beat the Germans without American help, it just would have taken longer. By 1943 Russia was already mass producing weapons and tanks more than capable of rivalling anything the Germans, and they had more than enough men to acomplish the task. It would have just meant that Russia would probably have ended up controlling all of mainland Europe.
If we look at the major turniing points of the second world war, we see that America had only minimal influence. Battle of Britain, El-Alamain, Stalingrad, D-Day. The war was lost for Germany the day they lost Stalingrad, maybe even as early as El-Alamain.
I wont deny that the Pacific was won by American presence, but even if we had lost, all we would have lost were colonies that we gave up after the war anyway.
Vietnam was a complete clusterfuck.
WW1 you did barely anything.
War of Independence i will give to you.
The American Civil War, the only successful American conflict that was not fought whilst in alliance with another country.
Then you have a history of samll costly conflicts against underdeveloped nations that you still needed the UK to come and hold you hand. E.G Iraq
This is America's glorious military history. The fact is they just love to take the credit for multinational efforts and crush underdeveloped countries with overwhelming force.
Politically, America is just like most countries, corrupt as hell.
They are economically strong, but that strength is slipping and they will soon be replaced as the worlds chief economic power by China.
America is also a country massively divided by culture. Its short history and overwhelming nationalism sometimes seems to me to be all that holds it together sometimes. I think that sometime in the next hundered years, America will divide into a number of seperate countries.
One of my big problems with America has always been its arrogance. Its leaders, and many Americans, think that if America says jump, the rest of the world has to say how high. I mean seriously, they think they have to be the world leader in everything. And god help any country that does something to piss off the USA.
It has appaling healthcare and poor standards of education yet for years these problems have just been brushed under the carpet in the hope that if they ignore them they will go away.
Many of its people are overwhelmingly rascist and fear immigration. Crime is far too common, especially violent crime.
America as a whole is too individualistic. You don't want to support each other. You think that because you earned it you should get all of it whilst some poor bastard is left to starve.
This is reflected in its government. Theyy are too scared to enact any major changes even though they would be beneficial, as they fear the publics response if they are seen as too meddling in the peoples every day lives.
