It's the opposite for me (except the beard part of course). I've been told I look a lot older then I am. Some people mistake me for a twenty year old (I'm 18 so I guess it wouldn't really make a difference that much)..

I'm 19 (20 this summer), but over voice-chat, people say I talk like I'm in my mid-30's. In person people say they think I'm in my late 20's, until I tell them my real age, then they promptly say "Oh, okay, I can see that. It's just from the way you talk you seem...older." It's probably because my reading material for early childhood was mostly classic literature (Dickens, Bronte, Poe, Shelly, Twain, etc.) and that my mother specifically chose older cartoons bought on vhs (Merry Melodies, Looney Tunes, the old Winnie the Pooh featurettes, etc., with the occupational Don Bluth piece) for me to be exposed to, rather than modern tv from the nineties (I didn't see my first modern tv show until 1999).

As to my first video game, I got an N64 as my first console in 1998, with my first game being the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

24, amiga 500 and Tiki Kiwi. Great game but insanely hard and unforgiving.

Interesting factoids with regard to this topic:

Average gamer age is 27. (amongst males only if I remember correctly)
Largest demographic in gaming is girls aged 18-24. (This might be out of date I read that more than a year ago.)

I'm 22. Yesterday someone asked me if I was 14. Ug, and people wonder why I never shave. When I don't shave everyone asks if I'm 17.

I'm 21 as of last December.

I started gaming when I was around 4 or 5, playing Frogger on an Atari, can't say I remember exactly what system it was, but it was pretty old-school. As far as what age people perceive me as, well, people on the internet generally think I'm older, mid-20s, early 30s, and people in real life can't seem to imagine me being any older than 16, as I still get carded and funny looks when I buy cigarettes.

Did it occur to you that you refused to state your age in one post then did so in another?

First gaming experience was on the Commodore 64, and I think the game was Paperboy. I would have been around 8/9, I think.
The other day at a pub (in the middle of the afternoon), I was with a friend (who is 18 - live in the UK btw, so we're both of legal drinking age) and even though I was buying soft drinks, we were both asked for ID.
Weee, someone else who has played PaperBoy :D Wasn't it the greatest thing ever and a side of fries? Eventually, we were allowed on the computers at school and I discovered things such as All The Right Type (shut up, I liked it even though it wasn't a game), Cross Country Canada, and SkiFree.

OT: I am 23 and a half. And still get ID'd for scratch tickets -_-

Im 16. Also dont judge peoples posts on their age. Someone whos 40 years old can be just as immature as a 13 or 14 year old.

EDIT: My first console was a nintendo 64 first game was golden eye. I dont remember my exact age when I got it though but it was pretty early on. I had every gameboy from the first one up till the ninetendo ds came out. I have an original xbox, a 360 (broken), a gaming PC, a ps2 slim and a ps3 slim.

EDIT2: I find it funny you were asked for ID OP because ive only ever been asked a few times for mine even though its not real it works. Then again my friend who is actually 18 gets hit for ID everywhere because hes a bit short.

Teenagers! Back when I was your age we weren't on internet forums!
We were out and about, in the good old outdoors, doing things real teenagers do, like shoot heroin and vandalize property.

OT: 24...ask me a month from now and that will change however.

I'm 16, and I believe my first experience with gaming EVER was when I was about 5 or 6. I went over to a friend's house and played his N64. I sucked, but it was so fun I didn't care. When I was about 10, I got a GBA for my birthday. And Monsters Inc. for the Color. I never actually beat that game. I can't find it now, and it'd probably be trivial to go back now even if my GBA still worked. Ah well; looking back, it kind of sucked.

I have no age, for I am timeless, endless, beginningless, of the wind that blows beyond all comprehension...

Or, quite simply, I'm 17 (18 in July, woo!!)
