I like ice. A lot. You know how some people get sad in the Winter because of the weather? I'm the exact opposite. I feel safer and happier with snow and ice. I'm not much for the ocean or big bodies of water, so I don't fall in the general, "Water" category most of the time.

i like the cool weather too... which is werid for a Fire magi...dont worry..you can Specialize into ice

I find myself drawn to Electricity and whatever element heals most often. Though I want to see a violent guy who uses Water Element...like he just shoots water into your lungs, or removes all water from your body killing you neat instantly.

My Aquamancer Friend Laughed when he saw this...and argeed

Space. I'm a natural lazy person. Teleportation would be awesome. Otherwise Time.

I would go with fire (I normally do in games) but, I don't really have things to kill and prefer the more practical use of them.

i will have creation!!!! more just so i can teleport due to my laziness but theoretically i can do anything.... i could count to infinity, kill twilight, or even survive (barely) a fight with chuck norris who, statistics show, is the most powerful force of uncreation ever uncreated into being.

I suppose Aether/Void whatever you wanna call it as I suppose it can be both or Fire. That is because I like to play offensively and Fire ususally has the best AoE spells while Air/Lightning has the best spike skills.

I always like Ice magic, it's so satisfying seeing an ememy encased in ice then exploding causing danage. (What can I say, I love Shiva's Diamond Dust attack from final fantasy).

Failing that, holy. Take that zombies and undead, taste the power of super bright whiteness!

Well, i would have to go Aquamancer, kinda because if you were the MASTER of water, and keeping in mind that humans are 90% water, you could potentially control their actions...
Now leave me, i must make preparations for my slave army.

Lightning.

Why? Well, think about it. Lightning, whether it's magic or not, is by far the most useful plot device in the history of the world.
I agree, and if you expand it to controlling anything involving electrical charges and currents, and THEN take into account that the reason why matter does not collapse into itself is electromagnetic repulsion, and than the strongest atomic bond is the ion bond, where two atoms are joined based on their ions' charge...
You control the world.

Also, nerve impulses are based on electric fields traveling along the cell membrane. You could inflict a LOT of pain without actually injuring anyone. Think how cool that would be!

Seriously Geomancer no contest really, what is more powerful than manipulating the field of battle with you're magic? just think about it a whole army is about to come and get you and it's all of them vs. you which ability would stop them? The one that can create a gigantic Canyon in a matter of seconds that's the one you want just think about it for a second some drop down to they're deaths and the others are trapped on the other side without being able to get you, besides if you are a commander you can also manipulate the environment to give you're army a tactical advantage, like creating a tower in a matter of seconds for an archer or creating trenches so that you're batallion can take cover. SO I guess that's it.
EDIT: In case you did not figure it out a geomancer is supposed to be an earth elemantal which focuses on environment manipulation, although I don't know where I got it from but I did not invent it so it must count.

I like to use titanium and chlorine elements for my spells every now and then. After all why limit yourself :).

But from the more mundane elements water is my favorite, I am soothing and calm most of the time but if someone really tries to push my buttons I can rage with the best of them.
