No surprise what the top voted option on the poll is...

Really, I don't think I can have an opinion of a game which I haven't played yet. But the way things are going, the things I have already seen of it. Gameplay, screenshots and information, I think my GOTY might just be... Skyrim.

Personally the only game that deserves imho is The Witcher 2, then again this year I haven't played that many games.

Deus Ex HR better be GOTY material, I've been waiting about 10 years for a second Deus Ex game and I'd hate to have to pretend it didn't happen.

If Deus Ex is as good as everyone says it is then it's got a very good chance to be my GOTY. I'm looking forward to Saints Row the Third as well but there's tons of ways* it could go wrong - not entirely wrong, but enough to make it a good game but not GOTY material.

[sub]*Is the customisation as good? Are the voices as good? Is the story as good? Is the story locked behind sporadically annoying minigames again? Will the story be completeley overshadowed by Volition's desire to be 'zany'? Is the pc port going to be not completely fucking awful this time? Etc...[/sub]

You shouldn't be able to vote for a game that hasn't even come out yet. It defeats the purpose.

Too early for me to say, I'm expecting Battlefield 3 to be GotY, for being overall great (so far) but if I have to nominate a GotY for the positive experience I had with it, I would go for Shadows of the Damned for sure, but hey, this is the guy who said that Splatterhouse 2010 was a great candidate for GotY 2010 :B

I hafta say, both qualify for a Gory award though(I know, it's a really lame pun, sorry).

Out of the ones I played I'm going to have to go(wtf sentence) with Shogun 2 Total War.

Though Minecraft counts too, so maybe that.

Still have to get From Dust somewhere.

Can I choose ToR? since it's supposed to come out this year? (I damn well hope it does) :D

I've played a lot of games this year, but none have really captured my interest. There have been only a few I've really enjoyed. Those being: Section 8:prejudice, The Witcher 2...actually those are all I can think of, sure I know there's been more but they've been lost in my piss poor memory and just not grabbing my attention. I have high hopes for a lot of games coming out in the next few months but i'm still not sure they'll stay in my sights for long.

OT: My GoTY would probably go to Witcher 2. But I really love Section 8, just wish more people played it online >_<

Although I do have especially high hopes for both RAGE and Deus Ex

gameplay doesnt look so great...
and, ive already watched all of Dragonball Z before... so these cutscenes really dont interest me.
Well dragon ball is kinda dull in the sense that most of it is charging up attacks and energy beams.
And since when did dragonball have a Buddha the size on a planet poking a guy to death and another man with a gigantic sword that stabs a guy from the moon into earth?

I think the combat looks great excluding the UI I saw in one gameplay vid and the Boss battle against the normal sized giant buddha as its just a shooting gallery.

One thing that has been missing from action games is IMPACT and this game has it from what I have seen.
Most action games work with slicing attacks with no sense of impact till the last move, such as Bayonetta and God of War. They feel like your doing nothing until the last blow.
It reminds me of Gears of War 2 and how every enemy reacted to your shots and such.
Dragonball has scenes pretty much exactly the same as some of this.
Mr. "Giant Buddha" looks like a generic shoto-style street fighter character...

and impact... well, i can almost agree, but... in Ninja Gaiden that lack of impact, which is usually done by freezing every hit, make the game feel smooth, fluid and fast, like that stereotype of a ninja should be. at least, i feel agile, and therefore like a ninja, while playing that game.
i dont know if hitstun/pausetime alone will make me feel like a teenage angsty rock golem/monk thing with father-figure issues... if thats what mattered.
if the combat is complex enough its something i might look at but really... from this alone i hate the characters and the style theyre going for so...

...it looks silly.

Portal 2 so far. The only others that stand a chance to knock it off for me would be Skyward Sword or Ico/Sotc (although I wonder whether a remake could be considered a Goty).

Gears of War 3, because Skyrim doesn't impress me, or it might just be that Oblivion wasn't any fun at all.

I'd like to say Skyrim, however given its replay value and the fact that most of my online buddies will be playing it unill 2012, im going for Battlefield 3.

Thus far this year...hmm tricky but im going to vote for Shogun 2 since its taken up most of my time.
