I was looking at some threads here on off-topics, and I was suprised how many Non-Americans there were. (Ya, ya, I'm the culturally insensitive yank who doesn't believe anything exists past those big blue ponds.)

Americans represent about 66% of native english speakers, I'm curious to see how much that demographic is reflected on the escapist. And to keep the thread interesting, name something you love and/or hate about your country. Resort to politics if you must, but I'm much more interested in the little trivial stuff.

For example. As much as I like to think I'm counter-culture and worldly compared to my countrymen, I'm still a sucker for apple pie =P

Born and raised in Iceland. Yes, it is cold here. But due to having grown up here, I probably don't feel it as much as people from other countries would.

I'm Irish, and Italian. Even if you factor in that I was born in the U.S. and still live there to this day, the fact of the matter is that I am Irish and Italian in America. If I wasn't, then explain the idiosyncracies which drive my life.
