I picked the Frigate because I liked exploring it in the Metroid Prime game.

If I said an Excalibur super fighter with T-Bomb and Shroud cloaking device, would I draw a ton of blank stares?

I would have a whole armada arranged in conical battle formations, smaller frigates to the mouth, cruisers and battleships inward, and the flagship at the point would be the dreadnought. The battle cone would be developed for maximum overlapping of firepower, and envelop the enemy in one massive death field.

Props to anyone who knows where that was from.

Out of all the characters, other than Kasumi, Zaeed and Grunt, Garrus has the least dialogue. Seriously. Other than the Sidonis stories, he only told that one story "reach, she had flexibility".

OT: Normandy, of course. But it must have Joker, EDI and Yeomen Kelly Chambers as part of the crew!

Wasn't a Mass Effect reference, but yeah, he didn't have much dialogue, but then again, he was a 1st game guy as well, so the relationship was already there.

That is if they ever managed to build a new one after its last stand at the jump node. God I love that game, I want Space Sims back.

Well theres the X series, though thats more Elite than decent combat. Other than that X-Wing Alliance and the TIE fighter re release are probably the next best after FS2. Everyone just stopped making them after FS2, possibly because it couldn't possibly be improved upon. (except by its own mod community)

Sad but true. I even devoted a thread to discussing why spacesims died, and its rather sad. Unfortunately, it seems that in the case of Freespace, nothing can kill a genre like an absolutely sublime title. Everyone just saw that and said, "Shit, how can we top that?"
