Actually race is a myth. Just nitpicking here but to say we're different races is to say we're different species when in fact we're simply variations of the same species. It sounds stupid but my Sociology lecturer drilled that into me. Instead of race you should use the word ethnicity.

OT: My parents are Vietnamese, but I was born in Australia after my parents fled the war. I consider myself Australian, I have thongs, I love bbq's and I hate Lleyton Hewitt. Aussie all the way!

My great grandfather may be German and his wife French but I am American (damn it all to hell) because I was born in America. However my daughters are half Dutch and their father Dutch. HA.

By that record, i would be Anglo-Saxon-Irish XD

(And probably a bit of viking, Dane or Jute in there as well, maybe even a bit of welsh or scotish perhaps? Maybe French or indeed Roman? A lot can happen in two thousand years)


I think those who are American may as well identify their heratige as American, which means you are a mix of several different ethnicities.Then again, being a country which is only 300 years old, i think i can understand why Americans hark back to what country their ancestors came from- then again, its nice that they remember their country of origin. So why don't you guy's have some sort of holiday where you celebrate what country your ancestors came from? So if you have German heratidge say.... have an oktoberfest! That's just a thought.
