No you aren't an atheist. You are a theophobe. You don't have a belief in no god, you have a fundamentalist mindset and pronounce judgement upon all who don't share your opinion with such idiotic statements.

No, I have no fear of god, I believe that the idea of god is a redundant concept, if you want to believe in a being whose very concept is to be frank ridiculous then be my guest, but I will say what I think about theists

A theophobe isn't necessarily scared of god, just as a homophobe isn't scared of gay people. A homophobe is just a bigoted prick. And you... :D

Yeah, ok dude. Good luck with the "Eightfold Path". You know, following "The Four Noble Truths" to the letter probably means you'll have to sell your computer and give up the internet. lawl. "Strongly considering"...lol. Namaste, Siddhārtha...lololol

On your way to sacrifice some goats and possibly chop off the head of a homosexual?

Shut the fuck you little piece of shit, you think you're witty or something?
You just come off as some stupid kid trying to be cynical whose parents never hit him and gave him whatever he wanted.

Go jump off a bridge and cleanse the gene pool.

A theophobe is by definition scared of god. Phobia means irrational fear, and as I have said before I'm not scared of god, I just thing the idea of an all powerful super-being is ridiculous.

Nope, because phobia can also mean hatred. Xenophobia, homophobia, Ephebiphobia etc. Expansive, all encompassing statements like "religious people are thick" are indicative of a theophobic/anti-theist/twat mindset.

Uh... is it possible to have athiesm and agnosticism apart? They are not the same thing.
Actually, I think Agnostics believe that it's impossible to know the truth. Atheists believe that there is no God.

I'm a Christian myself. However, I don't believe in forcing my religion on others, have no problem with homosexuality, and think that whoever wrote the bible verse that said that eating shellfish is an abomination was high.

hm......when one says Jedi is fringe is that because of the ability to " manipulate work with the force? and the sci-fi setting" ?

if its due to the philosophy, Jedi is a mix of the various Buddhism schools that's been spray painted and glittered

no some people may mean hatred, but the actual definition is an irrational fear of something.

Thank you for expanding my point, not entirely sure what the "Actually" at the start was about, but still.

Also, the post that you quoted was redundant, (not surprising, considering it was from September) as the poll has now been fixed (used to be "Atheist and Agnostic" instead of "non-religious")

I didn't realise how old this was. I just found it today and didn't really read the poll that thouroughly. I misread your post too. I thought it said "Are they not the same thing?" instead of "They are not the same thing." The "Actually" is just an annoying habit of mine.

roughly what is the religious composition of the Escapist community, how well does it reflect the general population, and why?
Interesting that non-religious dominates followed by monotheistic. I'd hazard a guess that this roughly reflects the religious make-up of middle-class first-world English-speaking countries' populations between the ages of 15 and 30, with a bit of an over-representation from Australia. :)
