WARNING! Religious Flame War Imminent! Well, just to get the ball rolling:

Atheist shouldn't be on the list, it's not a religion. It's the natural conclusion one comes to when applying rational and critical thinking.

This, basically. On both counts. Believe in whatever deity you want, or not, but don't try to make me do the same. And for fuck's sake, be a decent person in your own right.

Culturally, though, I still self-identify as a Jew.

Pantheist here. I believe that man creates gods and therefore all religions have an element of validity to them. From there I choose gods that I feel are worthy of worship to cobble together a sort of "personal paganism" out of existing moral and theological codes.

The fact that chaos worship is the inevitable result troubles me on some level.

Um, I'm not going to click Christian because I'm a bad Roman-Catholic but still don't want to be lumped in with Protestants.

First, not its not the 'rational conclusion' please don't be so arrogant. Agnosticism is because atheism rules out a facet of reality entirely. I don't want to go on and flame but that kind of arrogant thinking is not progressive.

Second Atheism IS a religion as it is a specific view on reality. It is not a Faith residing in a Deity but it is faith in mans limited current conceptualization of reality and an outlook on the way the universe works. By dictionary definition, its a religion.

Another religion oriented thread?

Polytheistic. I slaughter animals for a motley handful of Gods on a daily basis.

This is a dictionary definition of religion: a strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny; "he lost his faith but not his morality"
an institution to express belief in a divine power; "he was raised in the Baptist religion"; "a member of his own faith contradicted him"

This is another: A religion is a set of beliefs and practices often organized around supernatural and moral claims, and often codified as prayer, ritual, and religious law. ...

This does not fit into atheism, if it isn't super natural, its not a religion. Why do people insist on using their own logic as real evidence?

Atheism focuses on what is real and proven, a lot of athiests don't give a damn about their "outlook on the way the universe works" No god = No religion. If you find a definition of religion with no mention of supernatural beings or gods, do not post it in reply, as it will be by another ideological person who doesn't own a dictionary.

Other than that, non-religious, i prefer to exist without the confines of other peoples views surrounding me, and although thats impossible, its a nice dream.
