I've wanted to ask this for awhile but never got around to it, please forgive me of not knowing all of the sub religions and less known ones, if you want to be more specific please comment,

and do you think that thinking of god/who ever or what ever you believe in is self conscious or is it always taught? what if a child was born and never heard or was told about religions, and faith what would he think? would he think of god/w.e.o.w.e.y.b.i , this should be scientifically tested

Agnostic, and this is the second time a random link has appeared in people's text (Look at the forum name). Also, this will become a flame war in 3...2...1... GO!

I call for a moratorium on Religion based threads, to last 3 days. Either that, or just have one large thread for the discussion of Religion. Would anybody else support this? Sorry if it's a terrible idea.

To answer your question, I am Catholic.

Why is there no "non-religious, but spiritual" choice? That's me. And from what I understand Atheism isn't a religion, it's a lack of religion AND spirituality.

Why do Hindus have to share their vote with Agnostics?

That doesn't make much sense... Hindus believe in & worship a plethora of different Gods & Deities whereas Agnostics are unsure if there's even one God, yet on your poll they would both have to vote for "other".

Well, there are only six slots (IIRC). Try dividing them up like this: Abrahamic (Judaism, Christianity, Islam), Dharmic (Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism), Pagan (Wicca, Shamanism), Non-denominational/Agnostic, Non-religious, Atheist. There's more, that's just the ones I remember.

As slightly retarded as this thread is, I would like to point out a book which examines just that possibility, called Knowledge of Angels. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knowledge_of_Angels

Also, whilst it would be incredibly cruel to remove from a child anything that could influence it into believing in a higher power, it has occurred in many cases. When this happens, the child is called a feral child. Arguably the most famous example of this is Kaspar Hauser, who did believe in God. However it could be debated as to how feral he really was, due to the fact he had clearly had some sort of exposure to human contact, even if it had been limited.

So, uhhh, yeah. Go do some research.

I keep suggesting a different forum for "Controversial Issues Debates" Like religion and politics, etc. Everyone agrees, but nothing ever happens.

Wow, looking at the choices, Slayermaster should be a peace envoy to India & Pakistan.

"Why can't you guys just get along? Don't you see you're all the same? You're all "other" at the end of the day, so put aside your differences, lay down your arms & rejoice in your shared "otherness."

Please correct your spelling when you get unbanned!

Also, what Monkeyman8 said: atheism is NOT a religion!

Edit - I'm an atheist and it's reassuring to see we're winning... the poll.
