Native language - Latvian. I know English, French, Russian, a little bit of German and Spanish, but my second language has to be English. Seriously, it's kinda like my second native language. I feel like I've known it since the day of my birth. Sometimes I even think in English.

I speak Finnish, English and Swedish fluently. Finnish is my first language, second language is officially Swedish (I'm bilingual, yay) but I'm way better in English. I can read Japanese and Korean and talk not-so-good German. But I can understand German well and Norwegian a little bit. =)

Perkele!

My primarly language is English, and I'm rather good at that one.

My secondary language is French, and I'm rather miserable at that one. Mainly due to lack of use, I hope... until my recent trip to Montreal I hadn't spoken a word of it in more than twenty years, and a lot of rust accumulates on language skills (especially vocabulary!) over that length of time. I really should tune into French-language TV more often and get more practice.

The long answer would be: All I know are Smatterings in various languages from my globtrotting days, working in law enforcement, and having scandinavian grandparents. (swedish on one side norwegian on the other)

The short answer would be: none, really

No mutta, mukavaa iltaa teillekin kansalainen...Ahem. :D

Well I'm Finnish so Swedish should be my second language, considering how much it's hammered into people during school time, but I never really learned or assimilated it too well...So English it is. I'm quite comfortable in using it, and most people understand me by using it. Also, I tried learning French during four school courses, but the attraction withered quite fast. So I used to be able to speak some horrible French, but currently not even that much...which might be a good thing.

My mom tongue is Hungarian.
I can speak English pretty good.
And I'm learning Russian right now.

Oh, and I can swear in Spanish.
You mean you can speak English pretty well?

I actually have something similar. Russian is my first, learned English, can swear in Spanish, and have had 5 years of German.
Actually, that "good" was on purpose.
Don't ask why.

Well, my second language is english.
My third is german.
Fourth is swedish (even though it legally is my second language. Stupid Finnish bi-lingual laws)
Fifth is spanish.
And sixth is japanese, even though what little I can read and write is limited to katakana.

I would have to say French though I read it better that I speak it. I can swear really well in Spanish and Italian though.

Took Spanish all four years of high school, took German senior year of high school, I've forgotten a lot of my Spanish but can still read a bit of it. My German never got much beyond a basic conversational level. I'm majoring in Chinese, and I learned more in my first semester than I did in high school with Spanish or German.

I can speak basic french. I can ask for the time and stuff, and order food in a restaurant. Just don't expect me to declare my undying love to any french ladies in the form of a verbose soliquoly.

And in order not to wander too far from the thread, I should contribute to this thread. In my opinion everybody should learn another language besides their primary. You never know when you might need it, especially abroad. Also, you can impress others with you extensive verbal skills.

My home language is English, my second is French.

I used to be decent at Japanese as well, but it's really rusty now, and I'm thinking of doing a refresher course.
