i'm an english speaking monolinguist with bad spelling and creative pronunciation.
i have at various times spoken a little spanish, french, latin, german, and russian. with a limited understanding of japanese. but not enough of any to be considered fluent.
How so? Flemish is just Dutch with a different, much softer accent.
We Flemish don't sound like we have a something scraping the inside of our throats whenever we pronounce a g or a ch.
But then there's also West-Flemish, a strange dialect which is pretty damn hard to understand, no mather what languages you speak.
English is my second. I started with Spanish and I have delved into French and German... when I started learning Mandarin something had to give. So I have now forgotten all my algebra!
My native tongue is English, and I'm in Spanish 3 at school.
After highschool and in my college years I hope to teach myself Japanese and maybe Italian or Portugese.
