I don't believe in categorizing people like books on shelves, everyone is unique.
I don't think that's quite true. People usually tend to fall into particular patterns of thought and behavior that can and do lead to them being categorized. If you like something, there will definitely be someone else who likes it too. If you think of something, the chances are good that someone else is also thinking of it or has thought of it before. It's not a bad thing, though. It leads you to find like-minded individuals who share your interests.

I'm into indie and rock music and wear indie clothes, I have a distinct indie style about me. I prefer indie to dance music (unlike all but perhaps one of my housemates), and I'm attracted to indie (and goth, surprisingly) girls.
Enlighten me.

What the hell are "indie" clothes? What do you mean by "indie" music? What do you mean by "dance" music? What do you mean by "indie" girls?
Just generally non-conformative. Look at people next time you're out and you'll notice that in general, they'll have similar styles, or if you sneak a look on someone's ipod screen over their shoulder, you'll notice that they generally have the same stuff on mostly, in a wide variety of music types. Indie is just breaking the mould and not being the same as everyone else, I consider myself indie because I'm unique and I don't fit into any actual stereotype. As for examples of indie and dance music, here:

- Indie music (first playlist I found, but there's plenty more there if you take a look). [http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=4831A50F73B4FCA9&search_query=indie+music]

- Dance, anything on this page or similar. [http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=electro+dance+music&search_type=&aq=f]

I suppose I would mainly fit into the Nerd/Geek stereotype because of the fact whenever someoene gets a fact wrong I immediately correct them, I love Wikipedia and Dictionary.com to look up stuff. I go to library and read. I'm a know-it-all around computers etc, etc.

But I also am somewhat of a grammar-nazi too as when someone makes a mistake in their sentences while Roleplaying I tend to grind my teeth and refrain from tearing my hair out at the bad grammar/spelling, whatever, has been written.

But all in all I'm a stereotypical furry fan to be honest. Love the art. Love roleplaying the stuff, write stories around it have collars and bells and stuff. So yeh, Furry. x3

Some people would call me preppy because of the clothes I wear, and the fact that I'm always happy. But I think I fall more into the geek/nerd stereotype. [small]I like watching Sanford and Son. Along with other shows from the 70's.[/small]

Interesting that this thread set out to prove that most gamers and forumgoers don't fall into the nerd/geek category, yet my own poll is proving me wrong. Ah well, it's slightly amusing, and I can't always be right, I guess :)

Never fit into anything...

Broody chick who sits in class and draws? I dunno I didn't go out of my way for highschool. It was just that thing I did every day, and now that's gone those shallow stereotypes don't exist anymore. And yet everyone in my class seemed to assume I possessed infinite wisdom because I didn't say much... I mean seriously, people I didn't EVER talk with would ask me questions about relationships and life...

...I seem to give off this air of 'old', It really bites. Because when I crack a joke, people are too dumbfounded to speak and it fell flat. Ahhh well. Thank god awkward years are over, people I talk with now seem to actually respond to my dry sense of humor.

I'm in the popular crowd, but I don't exactly fit that stereotype. Don't drink, party, dress preppy, or have sex, although I do play a lot of sports. So I'd go with jock, except that implies me being semi-retarded, when in fact it's quite the opposite. I'm semi not-retarded.

Probably a geek because I get Dune references and go to university (of course, if I were to run a university, getting Dune references would be a requirement for students).
Need to read that...
Anyways, I'm a stoic genius, not a complete geek.

I'm a mixture of things. I look like a scene chick, but I'm a huge nerd. But it really depends on my mood. I tend to wear some sorta graphic tee and skinny jeans with my cons or slip-on canvas. Or my DCs/ZooYorks. I wear skater stuff too when I usta skate. I'm just one big walking "What the hell?", I guess. But I love video games and computers/electronics. Go figure.
