Well considering that the next gen has yet to be announced (The XB:1, PS4, Wii U and PC are current gen), I'm still waiting.

As for the current gen. I have no reason to cash out for a current gen console, since my PS3 works fine for living-room "infotainment", and my PC works fine for any game that's been released so far.

I am currently fighting the temptation to go out and buy a PS4 at this very moment in time. The only thing that is stopping me is the fact that I can't justify the purchase at the moment. I have games to start and others to finish and I really want to see how Life is Strange ends but I'm not prepared to pay for it again on a new console.

I reckon that if Fallout 4 keeps its November release date, then I will buy one in November by which time it should have enough games to keep me interested (I really want to play The Escapists as well). If Fallouts release date shifts to next year, which I think it will, then I will buy one next year probably around the time Uncharted 4 comes out.

I already did, then the cheeky buggers went and made another generation! Perhaps I'll return to my 90's PC gaming roots and build a computer. No idea when I'll do that though. Wait I know! When they finally finish Commander Keen Battles for the Universe!

I ebayed my backward-compatible PS3 to buy my PS4. Have Bloodbourne, Destiny w/ expansions, and Dragon Age: Inquisition for the system, among others, so I've got my money's worth out of it with the time spent on those 3 games alone. Haven't yet purchased Witcher 3 (last check went to explosives YAY ID4) and with my newly-built PC with a 2TB HD, I7-5930k and 295x2, I'm very much ready for the NEXT next gen so which system I purchase this game for will be a tough choice.

My dad is the biggest Star Wars fan of all time(No...seriously. He owns 1 of 5 official Han Solo on Carbonite they made for Empire Strikes Back) and I showed him the Star Wars BattleFront footage. He asked if I had a console that could play it. I do not. He said pick one(I went for PS4) and he'd get if for me for Xmas if I buy Battlefront and bring the PS4 over to home and let him play every weekend.

I agreed happily. So...Xmas I guess.

No time soon, I think. When I upgrade to the current generation of consoles it'll be with a PS4 and those are still too expensive for me to afford really, not to mention the fact that games for it are equally pricey. I do plan to upgrade eventually though, but I'm waiting for the price to drop and for more games that I'm interested in to come out. I mean, while I'd love to play stuff like Arkham Knight and Bloodborne they're not really console-worthy purchases on their own.

I think I'm done with consoles. I've owned six up to and including a PS3. Consoles are now specialized PCs with a lot of the function stripped out anyway. The limits/benefits that made consoles unique have largely gone away, or at least become less important. The biggest changes - cartridge to disc, 2D to polygons, disc to onboard memory, fuzzy low-res to HD - have all been made. Now it's simply a matter of refining and increasing existing capabilities. Frankly this doesn't interest me like it used to. I don't need to see another billion particle effects on screen. My PS3 looks as good as it needs to.

I acquired my PS4 at Christmas with Assassins Creed Unity, but I didn't start playing it solidly until Bloodborne came out, and since then I am more likely to play my PS4 or my Nintendo 3DS more than any other console, and with Batman: Arkham Knight and Lego Jurassic world recently acquired for my library and Horizon, Assassins Creed Syndicate, Star wars Battlefront and Fallout 4 coming out in the near future it will be a trend that is likely to continue.

I'm saving up for a new pc & a console. I'll probably get an Xbone because I like Halo & the only exclusive PS4 game I have any interest in, Horizons: Zero Dawn, is still a big unknown at this point. I figure the Xbone has enough games I want to warrant a purchase now. Hopefully I'll have the money by the end of September, get myself a birthday present in time for some new games.

I've always been primarily a PC gamer, so I voted PC.

That said, I've typically also had consoles too. This is the first generation since the NES days where I've had zero interest in owning a current console. This generation has no special function that appeals to me, and so far no exclusives that have really motivated me to buy a system.
