I hope it ends after Black Ops. Would be nice for two great FPS series (Halo and CoD) to end in the same year, and in my opinion, they will. I mean, 343 industries is going to be making more Halos, and Activision'll force out my CoDs, but Infinity Ward's left CoD, and Bungie aren't making more Halos, so in my opinion this year's the end. Good game-wise, anyway. MW3'll be a force, rushed and different game, I think, since the original creators aren't there to oversee it. I know it won't happen, but I think it should end on a high with Black Ops. Plus,it'll be one last competition between devs for Halo vs CoD.

The minute they include subscriptions, I will never pay that for a game as shallow as CoD. I still enjoy the series multiplayer and story modes but I would love them to add a bit more to each game like spec opps or nazi zombies

I don't really care when it ends. Just stop trying to milk your precious cash cows. Every game after Call of Duty 2 was more or less Call of Duty 2 with some twists, until Call of Duty 4 came out, after which every game was more or less Call of Duty 4. Take a fucking breather and think things through instead of spewing crap until everyone loses faith in your series and then releasing another gold nugget in that pile of expensive turd.

I can bet quite a lot of money that I can as soon as a list of characters is released for Black Ops, predict what will become of each character during the course of the game (Captain Price of course, will make a glorious return, speak in a rather outdated British accent and NOT DIE).

.
Doubtful, as Price is Infinity Ward's. Reznov is likely to make a cameo though.

I'm going to say never. I've never been a big fan of military shooters, but the Call of Duty series has always been a lot of fun.

As long as military shooters are popular, there will be Call of Duty. There are still many wars from many different perspectives that they have yet to cover.

Play a Spetsnaz campaign, anyone? Battle of Rorke's Drift? Vietnam? Korea? Not-North Korea?

Hell we haven't even touched on alternate histories!

I'm not saying I like it, I'm just saying Activision is going to keep making Modern Warfare games until people stop buying them.

They're already making Black Ops... They might as well spit it out, let people say it's great or it sucks, and then end it. To be honest, the Call of Duty series never really appealed to me that much, the only reason I liked World At War was for the Nazi Zombies part of it, and even that's no fun when people have no microphone, or if they do, they don't listen period.

It should have ended after Call of Duty 4 (Read; on a positive note), but I guess now is the next best thing.

Now.

Don't kill me, it's just that the franchise doesn't have much to do with itself anymore.. it would be cool if they dropped the name, invented some really new scenarios (and thus franchises) and used the almost perfected gameplay (in their own niche anyway) to start something new.

it went away march 2010, when battlefield series got A re-kick up the arse, and became better than CoD
Which is why it outsold MW2, has more players than MW2, and no one got sick of BC2 to go back to MW2 after the highly successful boycott.

I would love to see what kind of stuff they can think of to put in games. but sooner or later they will start retreading old ground that when they do that should give up. but if its a different to old ones and it just keeps getting better then there isn't any need for it to stop.

I can also pretty much guarantee that the "Enemy" will either be some Middle-Eastern Oil Baron or Russia again.
Would it not be a glorious entrance? With it being Vietnam and all. Treyarch wouldn't use Infinity Ward characters in their game though, would they? Either way I actually prefer Treyarch over Infinity Ward. World at War wasn't bad for me, I thought it was real good, actually.

If Black Ops is good then I'll look into buying the game that follows. But the series on thin ice with everyone so they better make them good.

Where's the "The second Modern Warfare 1 comes out"?

That poor, poor series. Anything that resembles the dead horse that it once was, is now nothing more than a pile of nerve endings, and bits of bones.
