I would like to know when you guys believe it is apporiate and acceptable to use violence personally. I ask this after a couple of recent news articles about police brutallity and violent bullying.

Personally, I would only use violence to protect myself or someone else, regardless of who they are. Obviously I do discriminating when I should step in for someone else, I'm not going to protect someone who has started a fight unless it gets very serious.

What about you guys?

I'll have to say that I would fight if I have to (ie: no other way). At school, I have a reputation for getting mad or furious at people who cross me. With that said, I would probally fight someone or anyone who pisses me off the most.

People say violence isn't the answer, if I can get these annoying wanna-be-rappers/producers and bitches to stop fucking with me, then I would bash their skulls into each brick on my school's campus.

I'm mildly sadistic, so sue me.

Best time to kick arse?

Whn walking down an open feild, the world begins to spin with crazy music and you are forced into a confrontation with x-number of strange creatures. The arse kicking can proceed then, and always then.

It is acceptable to use violence only when not doing so would cause physical harm to you or another person and when escaping the dangerous situation is impossible.

The correct answer is "when you're all out of gum."
But what if I want to kick ass AND chew bubble gum, and I'm not all out of gum?

OT: Defense. You don't hurt my friends or you will regret it. If you ever wake up, that is.

I'm probably one of the most docile people you can meet about 95% of the time. Mostly I just get cynical and sarcastic when I'm pissed off. But my friends know that there are just some lines that you do not cross when I'm around, and if anyone ever does something to really make me see the red mist you's better believe no matter who they were, where we were, or who was watching that I would rip them apart and use their manhood as a punch bag. For example, very recently this guy from my year who's about twice my size was trying it on with a girl from my year. When she let him know she wasn't interested he started getting pretty rough with her. Now in my book any kind of violence or aggression towards a woman is one of the lowest most disgusting things you can do so I wasn't about to just walk away. I demanded that he apologise publicly right there. When he refused I snapped and by the time it had taken four of my friends working together to get me off him he was out cold. And y'know what, I don't care that I'm now in deep shit for it. I don't care that I'm lucky not to be prosecuted and might still get sued. I don't care that many people now think I'm a psycho. I'd do it all again and worse without a second thought. When you are dealing with the sort of people who will hit a woman when she won't give him what he wants violence is the only language they understand.

Serious answer: defense of self or others.

People say violence isn't the answer
Other people say that violence is like duct tape: if it's not working, you're not using enough.

Sorry, but these options are skewed. They don't allow for any combination answers, because more than one is true.

Brilliant. I haven't heard that and now I'm going to steal it.

OT: It's okay to kickass when in defense of others or yourself.

I haven't a problem with violence. What I have a problem with is killing. I don't approve of killing anyone for any reason.

Whenever necessary. This world has no care for your safety, your life. Why afford those who wish to endanger you or your path in life any? Especially when dealing with the government. It is about time they learned that even I'd they change laws to make themselves untouchable, the people can still choose to excercise the most extreme form of justice.

Unless you count high school sports, I've only fought someone else once. I technically started it. After the other guy kicked down a ladder. Which I was standing on. I was quite pissed.

Otherwise, I'm normally quite pacifistic. It's quite easy to make me either sarcastic or cynical, but I only resort to physical violence when people try to harm me. So, yeah, going with defense of yourself and others.
