Poll: When was the last time that you bought a physical copy of an Album and/or a Film in real life?

i think the last time i bought a hard copy of a movie it was Disney's Tangled.

i just either stream movies now or rent them. music, i get through youtube. hurray for stealing music that cant even be bought. * sigh? *

Today I actually set out to buy some CDs from HMV today as I knew they had fairly good offers on, and for once were cheaper than Amazon. I mentioned it to the cashier who stated that was part of the problem and it occurred to me that I cannot remember the last time that I had gone to the shop for what I could buy online. I prefer physical copies of things over downloads but I still buy them online. I?m wondering if I?m alone in this.

I think you made your poll a little too skewed towards "it's been forever".

A lot of people still buy things in stores. I bought Reservoir Dogs on DVD just the other day for three bucks. Would I have ordered it on Amazon? No - not worth the shipping cost. But an impulse buy in a store? Sure.

Yeah I thought that I should have included a within month option in retrospect but I didn't check back soon enough to update without skewing the votes already cast. Quarterly works well for as most albums are only really released at certain times of year (to target our wallets/purses best) but I don't think I made it very fair for DVD or Blu-Ray as they tend to be be released sporadically depending on when the film opened and how well it preformed in the box office.

Next time I do a poll I'll try to be more representative with the options.

The last CD I bought was Imaginaerum by Nightwish. Fantastic album. I highly recommend it to anyone into Symphonic Metal or metal in general.

The day avengers assemble came out I rushed to buy the dvd. I thought it would have special features, it did not. I was irate.
