It's even better, watch him rip apart games I love? It means I understand the references he makes!
Bayonetta's legs coming up higher than her beehive hairdoo? Check
Batman walking rigidly around? Check
Chest high walls forming out of explosions in Gears of War? That made me laugh for ages. I still bring it up.
Bioshock 2 is case in point: I love that game, the gameplay is an enhancement of the first, the disturbing bent is largely toned down and you get to play a Big Daddy, which I always wanted to do.
So when Yahtzee hates this game? Do I rage quit his video? No. Do I post ferociously on here about how wrong he is? No. I think, he's right! It IS a terrible knock off of the original, you as a super-duper-COMPETANT big daddy is a stupid idea and every quality of creepy discovery is washed away replaced with rather banal familarity.

So how does one come to terms with this? That you could like a game, love a game and yet, someone.... out there.... disagrees with you?! highlights every flaw in that game you love, every flaw you know is there but have chosen to ignore? You laugh, you watch it again, and realise every game you love is a flawed diamond and everything else is piece of computerised poo.

Lets be honest, if you use Yahtzee to help decide whether to buy a game, you are missing the point. In fact, you will only be able to buy Portal and Batman Arkham Asylum - oh and be on the constant lookout for Fantasy World Dizzy.

[HEADING=2]I DO NOT CARE IN THE SLIGHTEST AS YAHTZEE DOES NOT REVIEW GAMES HE IS NOT A REVIEWER HE IS A CRITIC DAMMIT. HE CRITIZES GAMES FOR COMEDIC EFFECT NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS THEY ARE REVIEW IN THE FARTHEST REACHES OF THE WORD.[/HEADING]

Seriously OT: Yahtzee doesn't review games and nothing he does can even be considered as such as he even says he is a critic and everyone knows they are for laughs so I don't care about what he says. I don't even find them funny anymore.

When Yahtzee reviews a game that I like, I start to hate it and say everything he said about it because I'm a simple weak minded human that can't form my own opinion, I have to be told how I feel about things, I can't just do something drastic and form my own opinion and think other people will form their own opinions.

I usually laugh or find it funny, then goes on to play the game and don't care about what he'd been slaughtering about the game.

I don't really care to be honest. Yahtzee's opinion means nothing to me since I feel he just digs up the bad stuff for laughs.

Whatever he says is simply an opinion. In the scenario you mentioned I'm interested to see if he feels the same way about a game (purely to vindicate my own beliefs) but I don't actually care if he takes an entirely different view. And as I find his reviews generally amusing, even if I were to feel a pang of agitation it would be mitigated.

I mean, why would I get angry at the opinion of some guy living half way around the planet whose views and opinions have no effect on my life whatsoever?

Reviewing is a very subjective, if he doesn't like it oh well. I don't like Halo, plenty of people do. I don't like driving games, but like FPS', some people like Driving Games but hate FPS'.

All it means is he may have different views. If you watch he doesn't actually hate all games, but he picks it apart (as he's paid to), and points out the bad bits, leaving you to assume the rest is good.

Few examples: Portal, Psychonauts, Bioshock, I think he quite liked Saints Row 2.

There's always something wrong with even the very best games. Yahtzee just points it out in a funny way. So far I haven't minded him taking the piss out of games I enjoyed.

I love it, I played Bioshock for the first time recently. Delving into the earlier reviews and finding games like that is pretty fun. I would never get offended if he did some of my favourite games, it's not like his criticisms are totally unfounded on the most part.

I think to myself, everyone is entitled to their own thoughts. If he didn't like it, he just didn't see it the way I did.

I usually think he's going to blow everything out of proportion by a massive scale and be almost totally wrong.

Where is the "This is going to be a fucking awesome video!" option? I like it when he "reviews" a game I like. Those are the best videos he makes.

i watch his reviews more for entertainment than information, though he's often right in what he says.

He just points out the flaws, so I'm okay with that

If he genuinely disliked the game, THEN we'd have a problem

Depends on the review, the Borderlands one was fairly wrong, I disagreed with almost all his points. Yet I agreed with almost all of the MW2 review.
Agreed.

His Borderlands review was wrong but his Torchlight review was spot on.
[sub]All in my opinion.[/sub]

I do, however, dread a possible review of Final Fantasy XIII. It will, no doubt, cause all the firm JRPG haters to use it as an argument point and blurt it out whenever they please.

Stupid people.

He usually brings up solid points against games, but that doesn't change whether or not I like it. I think it is important to notice these types of things and cherish the games that have many strong points. Hopefully stuff like this makes game developers worry about the little, or sometimes colossal game mechanics/story issues
