Bollocks to him I say!

I usually read his reviews; but they have no meaning to me - as his opinion on a particular game doesn't affect my opinion on that game.

If he says say; Borderlands sucks - I'd have to blatantly disagree. I myself think Borderlands is a great game - true it's repetitive and doesn't have that good of a storyline; but what game since 2008 isn't?

If only we could just revert back to the 8 & 16 bit era. I miss those days.

I just watch ZP for the humor.
He did review games I like (like Portal) and I completely agreed with him if I remember it well.

I think to myself "Ah, it must be Wednesday." Yahtzee's reviews are for entertainment.

Somewhere between "It'll be fun to see what he says" and a sense of dread. I'm always afraid he'll point out something I didn't notice that will bother me into infinity and I'll never be able to enjoy the game the same way again.

So far that hasn't happened, luckily.

I think it's hilarious. He's turned me into a complete cynic and these "quasi-blockbuster games" such as Gears of War and Halo 3 don't interest me in the slightest. To me it's all the same sludge. He makes good points, but I think sometimes he exaggerates flaws a bit too much. But even when I don't agree with the guy he still makes it entertaining to see his perspective. That's why he's one of my favourite reviewers.

I'll get excited since I'll know every little detail of the game that he blasts, thus catching every joke.

It's just an opinion and he always seems to exaggerate things for laughs. I also see what parts I agree with. While I like borderlands I saw his review as pretty accurate.

Are you kidding? He tends to nail the game's, shall we say, stumbles with great precision and comedic flair! Hell, I loved Fable 2 but I was laughing away at him deriding it. Even if he says something that I disagree with I just wait a couple of seconds and he'll start in on something else.

In the case of Brutal Legend, the bottom option. In the case of Bioshock 2, Left Dead 2, Sonic Unleashed, and 'Splosion Man, it's a case of the 2nd one.

When he reviewed Mass Effect 2, my first thought was " *smirk* This should be good."

I've seen at least one post saying this, but I think it bears repeating. Because after all redundancy is necessary for the thought processes of the flawed and inept human mind.

Yahtzee does not "review" games he "critiques" them. Which means instead of telling you all about the game and how this or that rated against other similar games. He tells you what the good parts were, then he makes jokes out of the parts that pissed him off. He takes the flaws and skull fucks them with a cricket bat with a British flag wrapped around it.

I also believe that he does in fact represent most of us as gamers. He's not the best gamer in the world, but he's also not the worst. He gets tripped up on most of the same things that trip me up in games, and he demands good story and consistency. Not at all unreasonable, and I think he?s a major force for good in gaming as a whole. Just because he has a voice for all of us umpleasable folk.

Also he doesn't buy in to hype which can make a good but not stellar game seem like diamond encrusted diamond. So you usually get a more real idea of what the game was like and not a parrot of hype.

I'm an avid JRPG lover. There's no way I could possibly be a fan of his stuff without being able just laugh and shrug it off when he says a game I like is shit.

Yeah, I don't realy mind. At least he can clearly point out what he dosent like rather than just say "its shit". (well, most of the time anyway)

Typically I don't mind all that much, they're still usually funny. He usually says enough to where I can pick out the aspects of the game he hated that I liked (i.e. almost everything in the Soul Calibur 4 review). I have no choice, after all; my two favorite genres are fighting games and RPGs (any RPGs, W, J, S, A, you name it).

Really, the only reviews of his I actually don't like are when he goes off on a ranting tangent about the Wii in general.

Well, compared to him, I'm very forgiving if I find any bugs, glitches or bad design in games.

It's Yahtzee's job to completely rip apart the story, gameplay and whatnot. I'm just sittin' there waiting if he finds something I've never encountered. And I laugh.

I've played Bayonetta (fuckin' finally) and teh review seems to be throwing things grossly out of proportion. I watched the video before getting the game, so the review colored my opinion a bit. I personally like spectacle fighters, so I still like the game.
Its overactive sex appeal makes me a little ashamed to be its target audience. (Did Yahtzee say that?)
