I found it on photobucket, I think. It's one of the self-drawings by Hiromu Arakawa (who wrote FullMetal Alchemist), plus a caption.

Mine's from a comic. If you don't know the name of this character, you are a bloody moron.

Well! A lot of interesting responses.
And I have to say, I didn't expect so many and so different "Others" among them.

Actually, mine is the frontman for the band that got me into music.
Green Day?
If so, that's how I got into music too.

Mine's from the Least I Could Do webcomic, tweaked for March Mayhem by Fanboy.
Yup. I realized I loved both "Time of Your Life" and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" when I was a kid.
Then I realized they were by the same artist so I was all "Maybe I should give this music thing a try."
"Boulevard of Broken Dreams" Got me into music, and I realized that "Wake Me Up When September Ends" was also by them, and then I listened to Green Day and that's how I got into music.

As for my avatar. I honestly have no idea what it is or where it is from. I thought I just looked cool =D

A while ago, I edited it for VLR. Haven't changed it since =/
Green Day are pretty ace, I especially love their long, multi-part tracks. I really enjoyed "Jesus of Suburbia" and "Homecoming" when American Idiot was released waaay back. My favourite album of theirs still remains Nimrod though.

Also, I think the track that you call "Time of Your Life" is called "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)".

The silliest thing I encountered today ;P haha! It's great.

Mine's from a great band I listen to a lot... the branding says "Vivere militare est" (Living is going to war) and it shows a few bugs (Kafka-readers will understand why) and Kalashnikovs. Oh yes, there are the bands initials in the middle, wearing a crown. :> I like it

Fine, if you are going to go all specific on my ass, I quoted him, therefore, I did not misstate the song title.

I do also agree that "Jesus of Suburbia" is an amazing song.

Quite long though =/

I think my avatar's origins are pretty obvious. Anyway, it's Rodin's Man Taking A Dump The Thinker. I added three dots to it so that it'd fit my username.
