There is a small used shop in my city called Entertainment Overload that I get most of my stuff from. Sometimes they get new titles in but not often so for those I generally go to wherever is easiest or who has the best deal. EBGames is usually alright for new stuff, but I've found great deals at FutureShop/Best Buy, Wal-Mart/Zellers and even Toys R Us that go unmatched.

I've gotten stuff off ebay and amazon as well but not often. Only when I can't find what I'm looking for in a store do I check online.

I play older games a lot, then when a new release comes out (e.g Reach, or CoD) I play it at my friends' house, then buy it on steam when the prices are lower.

A local toy store which has no idea how to price games.

Or Steam if I happen to find something charming that my laptop can handle.
(Which is not an awful lot.)

I buy most of my games from a Gamestop at a local strip mall. There are plenty of used and new games, and the guys who work there are really friendly. The one in the traditional mall... not so good. It's tiny, has less staff, and they usually aren't as friendly.

So, go strip malls.

Mostly steam, games are released on Tuesdays which is when I have my classes. Install them in the morning and when I come home from classes they are ready to play. Any thing else is Gamestop

I'm in the UK, so we don't have Gamestops and Best Buys and the like over here. If it's a new title, then I go to GAME; if I'm just browsing older pre-owned games, then there's this great little store called Cex or something. I got Half-Life for £1.

I generally only use Amazon if it's an older game (e.g. for PS2) that's a lot more difficult to find in a shop.

I make a point of going to a local place called PNP. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable - genuine gamers. Plus they have rare and really old games.
I mean, really. Fatal Frame, brand new? Tecmo told me they didn't make it anymore. I couldn't find it anywhere.
