I'm gonna say it once. Greece is the best fucking country ever! It has sea, it doesn't rain too much, the lifestyle here is laid back and it really is a beautiful country, as anyone who has ever visited the Greek isles will tell you. Oh and if you dislike cold, this country suits you, since even in winter I wear t-shirts. No I have no mental illnesses.

I was just wondering what the best country to live in is, and don't just say your home country (I'm Not) because you live there, say what you think is acually th e best country. I'm American and I hate it here, all we are doing is taking one step foward and then 2 steps back
I would say Australia. I don't like America because the people there act like we've somehow fucked up the language.

Sweden.
The U.S. would be best if there were not such a thing as stupid people. Ofcourse, then the whole world would eventually be where everywhere is great.
I'd live there in a heartbeat, probably just because of the metal scene.

Sweden or Norway.

Norway has the best HDI in the world, and after that comes Sweden. Although I'm not sure which one is the best. Sweden has tons of immigrants, but Norway has lots of norwegians..

Thanks to those two facts I've chosen to pick neither.

Id have to say anywhere but America, though I've only been to America and Canada. My countrymen are assholes (or at least a very large percentage of them are).

Personal guess: Norway, Germany, Italy, or England my fathers been to about 30 different countries and he said he enjoyed those the most.

edit: I may have to make the stipulation of taking the third world countries out of "anywhere", maybe countries that are mostly desert too.

For me, It's Norway. There's just no exception. I like fish, I like snow and cold, I like oil and I like Norwegians. Though, my view may be skewed a bit.
I agree. But my stance is based on the fact that Norway is (one of) the most developed welfare-states in the world. And I happen to like democratic socialism.

Edit: Actually, Ireland [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quality_of_life_index] seems to be the best place to live in, according to the Economist.

No, you're not.

Anyway, I say the United Kingdom. And not because I live there, honest!

Not only was it voted the most beautiful island (No, really, I'm serious) by... Someone I can't remember, but we also have:

- Sean Bean
- Top Gear
- James Bond
- Harry Flashman
- Doctor Who
- TV Serieses that Americans try to steal
- Better Comedy
- Games Workshop
- Uh... Knife Crime
- Binge Drinking?
- A really cool Empire that we sort of... Gave back
- No dress sense
- Chavs

No wait... Oh bugger.
Still. The first few of those are okay, right?

I mean, look!
<spoiler=Pictures>

I'm so biased towards things I like. Whee!

Imo, it has to be somewhere English speaking. US-UK-AUS-CAN

It can't be run by religious crazies. UK-AUS-CAN

It can't be a left-wing nanny state. AUS-CAN

It can't just randomly ban games for silly reasons. CAN

So um, Canada for me, I suppose.

To be honest I kinda like it here in the UK, were actually getting a summer this year, and I'm lucky enough to live in Shropshire, one of the most beautiful areas of the country :D

/smugness

But seeing as we can't vote for our own country, I'm gona go for Italy, I love the food, the people seem nice enough whenever I've been, they have fantastic scenery, hot women, and a dodgy government. YAY!

Ahh fuck Italy isn't on the list :( *votes other*

That doesn't say much about how fun it is to actually live in those countries, though. The Quality of Life index is a better measurement for that, and Ireland seems to have taken the lead there.
