I forget which Vault it was, but the vault with all the clones in it, who would all ask where one of them went when you killed him.

I've never played Oblivion, so I'll have to go with Fallout 3.

It's hard to pick just one area - I love it all: the rolling hills of the wasteland, the blasted ruins of downtown DC, and everywhere in between. I guess if pressed, I'd pick the stretch of downtown along the river toward Rivet City. I just had a lot of fun working my way toward Rivet City the first time, taking down super muties and raiders. And it was rewarding when I finally spotted the aircraft carrier in the distance.

I guess I'll make a serious response.

In Fallout 3, my favorite area is the town right outside of Megaton. I would kill the local junkie, use some mods to make her items mine, and then use her house as my base. It's a nice little town that I like for some reason. Plus I needed someplace to stay after nuking Megaton, and I hate Tenpenny tower.

As for Oblivion

In Oblivion... I would have to say the path that goes from Chorrol to Bruma that passes north of Imperial City. The view from that road southwards was amazing.
I would say that. I also liked the mountains, because it was fun trying to climb up them by jumping.

Oblivion=Towns so I can steal peoples food, turn it into potions, and sell them at Mages Guild
Fallout 3=Anywhere but the Deathclaw Sanctuary. Stupid Vengence and bobblehead.

I prefer Oblivion. My favorite location would probably be the Night Mother's Sanctuary underneath the Lucky Old Lady Statue in Bravil. My favorite town is Leyawiin though. Partly because of the Abandoned House and The Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary.

Oblivion - Shivering Isles cuz Sheogorath is hilarious.

Fallout 3 - Tenpenny Tower and I'll tell you why:

Tenpenny tower reminds me of a high class hotel, and being a low class person IRL, I like the idea of having a nice organized bedroom SUITE with the clothing shop, food shop, bar, and item shop only a jump and a skip away with just about anything you would need to take the place over.

The game engine of each game is unmistakeably identical. You can find several of the same hallways in Fallout, and several of the same dungeons in Oblivion. Although most areas have their own decoration, Fallout 3 really did a good job at impressing, and I must say, I felt like less of a D&D kid playing F3. So of course, I'd preffer fallout3.

Out of both games, Tranquility Lane has to be one of the greatest/wakiest experiences I've ever had.

Oblivion, uh... The Mania half of Shivering Isles.

Fallout 3, Raven Rock or the Washington Monument.

I've never been able to get into Fallout 3's setting just because nuclear/sci-fi/apocalyptic has never been my thing. Too brown.

Oblivion, on the other hand, is vibrant and lively (plus I quite like light-fantasy as a setting). West of the Imperial City, coming back from Skingrad, I emerged from the Great Forest just as the sun was coming up over White Gold Tower...and my mind was utterly blown. It remains the single most awesome visual scene I've ever seen in a game. I just stopped what I was doing and watched that sunrise.

There's more to do in Oblivion, but the ugly faces, godawful voice acting, and clunky combat can really destroy the immersion of the game. Fallout 3 improved all of those aspects immensely.
