Elsweyr. We've had games set in elven and human lands, it's time for a game set in one of the lands of the beast people! Black Marsh is just endless swamps, Orsinium is frozen mountain range after frozen mountain range, it has to be Elsweyr! In the Elder Scrolls literature we have accounts of deserts, plains, fertile grasslands, forests, swamps and mountains in Elsweyr so it's certainly varied enough geographically. We have the book 'Ahzirr Traajijazeri' from Oblivion encouraging Khajiiti rebellion. And finally we have the most compelling case yet: Khajiit are cool.

I think they should make, like, one single tile with a rock and a tree on it, and copy-paste it a gazillion times and call it whatever the hell they want to call it.

Yeah Cyrodiil was the one place I never wanted to see in the first place; the fact that they made ESIV about it was baffling to me. Of course, it would have irritated me more if it didn't fit in perfectly with the bland, second rate experience that was Obvlivion - if they'd set that somewhere that didn't suck it would have been incongruous with the game as a whole.

Anyway, I'd love to see Valenwood after the book in Morrowind about the contracts guy trekking around it made it sound incredibly awesome. Really, though, anywhere except a repeat would be fine with me. Ideally with a game that isn't an utter abandonment of everything that made the series good to go along with it...

Cyrodill. Don't want nothing else but good ol Cyrodill. I believe it was confirmed that it would be set in Cyrodil anyway, a direct sequel of some sort.
Guys, just cause it's a direct sequel of the storyline, doesn't mean it has to be in Cyrodil.

Given all the hints Bethesda had dropped about developments in the Summerset Isles, that would probably be the logical choice. They might even bring back the Psijic Order (hinted at in Morrowind) as your main quest givers, making you the protagonist the next great force of change to Tamriel.

Personally, though, I'd love to see them bring back Hammerfell and Elsweyr back into the game. Seeing the Assassin's Creed mod for Oblivion has made me want to see how Bethesda would make their vast desert landscapes and ancient temples in modern graphics. Most of all I'd like to explore the port cities and uncharted islands of Hammerfell again. Hell, I'd settle for a beautiful seascape and coral reef to just LOOK at.

Edit: The floating island from the new book would be great too.

Anywhere, really. It's all good. I couldn't possibly make up my mind at all, even if they just stayed in Cyrodiil I'd be happy. Just give us a damn game.

Is it really too much to ask for full access to all of Tamriel?
Yes? The place is massive, there's no way they could make the whole place well and still make a good game out of it, partially out of time and cost restraints, partially because it would rape everyone's computers/consoles.

Arena gave you full access to Tamriel. However, only a few select places from each province were fully designed by the makers. The rest was randomly generated, and I expect each place would be rather drab and monotonous overall, like they say Daggerfall was.

Nope, in my opinion, the best choice is to pick one place, and flesh it out as much as they can. That's how you build an intriguing and properly immersive world.

Well if they wait till the next console before releasing I would like Cyrodril and another section of the world. So that maybe these npcs could tell us about places we could go visit, the sequel to that should just be the whole world.

Please do supply the source that confirms if you would. The last thing I heard about it was a mere rumour.

No. it's not! :D It's been my wet dream for a while, I admit.

However, I guess it's a bit too much.. Two larger and one smaller area would be diamond, though!

I've been interested in Skyrim and Black Marsh, so either of those would be cool, but anywhere except Cyrodiil would be fine with me. Having two games in the same place just seems lazy and unimaginative to me.

I hope we go to a new continent! With new classes, new races, and............let's not go for too much innovation at once.
Well, Tamriel is just one continent on Nirn (the planet), and I suppose there could be a whole other continent. But why would they need to make up a whole new set of races and locations when there's so much more left to explore in Tamriel? We've only covered a very small portion of the continent (not including Arena) in the past few games, and I'd love to travel around some of the other places first.

Anyway, on topic. I think Hammerfell. Wasn't that where the second game was set? I am curious to see that area...but then I always play Nord who I believe are from Skyrim.
I haven't played Daggerfall yet (it's on my list of things to do), but I quickly checked where Daggerfall actually was, and it turned out to be in High Rock. Sloppy research, I know. As it turns out, "Daggerfall" (the game) takes place in both High Rock and Hammerfall, so I guess a game set there would also be a "return". However, that said, Daggerfall only took place in smaller portions of both provinces, specifically those around Iliac bay. You can compare them with these pictures:

High Rock:

Hammerfall:

Map of locations in "Daggerfall" (around Iliac Bay)
Also, this was the largest game world ever built. 62 000 km2

Look how small Cyrodiil is in comparison x)

I really hate elves. As in, all of them. They are ridiculously ugly, their voices annoy me, their stats bore me. They are what make the games really cheesy imo.

My point here being that I really really really really don't want one in Summerset Isle or anywhere else where the elves hang out.

I think skyrim would be best tbh. Nords don't seem to get anywhere near as much lore about them as the rest of the races.
