I'm so tempted to make a new account and a post along the lines of "What newbies?" with it right now.

Anyway, not that I've noticed a specific increase in newbs, but I don't really mind. New people's good.

Starting from when do you consider someone a newbie?
1-100 post.
In that measure someone who has joined less than 24 hours ago could no longer be a newbie, if they just found a way to spam post enough posts. I just did almost 100 messages in the last 7 hours or so.
Well, I just randomly guessimated. Depends on your point of view.
When I asked the question I actually meant the amount of time, not the amount of posts.

I say the more the merrier. As long as they try not to start flame wars, keep IM speak to a minimum and above all don't act like they're talkin wit the-re B3st1e5 on teh myspace I'm fine with that. And yes I feel I have the right to start calling a few shots here on these forums, what with being gonzo and all.

We were all newbies once, if they act like trolls, then they will be dealt with like trolls.

Until they do something stupid, consider them one of us and embrace them.

But I swear to god, if they make MW2 threads I'm going to kill them. Kill them all.

Here's my list of people who MUST help.

Furburt
Shewolf
Max The reaper.
Idealist commy
Neonbob
simulord
Eatmorebabies
the Soviet connection
And Wicky 42.

We will SQUASH the newbies, if they break the rules and make non stop repeat threads! :<

To arms my bretheren! :D
Hilarious how you forgot to enlist the help of our very own Spanish Inquisition.

...Really? You base "newbness" on post count? Thats a terrible way to go about it.
Agreed, I would think you'd base it more on the date they joined which very conveniently stated with every one of their posts.

I see what you are talking about. All I can say is that it can't be bad, we were all new at one point. I haven't been here that long, but look at me now: I've already angered about 1/10th the amount of people Hitler has offended, and I have a fairly good collection of posts. And I am typing five minutes after midnight...I have no life...but at least some of the newer people can get just as absorbed as we are to this forum and make us look a little more normal.
I'll never understand how people are able to post so much...You've been here for 2 months and you already have 1/4th of my posts.
I just post on EVERYTHING. I spend about .5-4 hours a day on this site, every other week. It gives me plenty of time to post.
I spend alot of time on the site as well. Its my homepage as a matter of fact on my laptop. I really enjoy this website...I guess its the community, and hopefully whatever newcomers are on their way in, they enjoy it as much as I do.

Anyways, yeah I don't post on everything. I used to do that for the first month or so, now I pick and choose. I'm not much of a post whore, unless a topic interests me. I hate posting in topics where its like "WHATS UR FAVORITE PIZZA?!?!". So annoying. Just don't make those topics, alright newcomers?

Meh, I joined the actual community after I watched every single ZP, then I fell in love with a view from the road. And I like posting.

Edit: And also, check your post count, one more for epic 1337-ness

If anything, I'd base it on actually just reading their posts. If their viewpoint is valid, if it makes sense, if they are actually typing somewhat coherently and so on. Basing it on the date that they joined, or the amount of posts seems....childish.

You've only been here 8 months yourself. Just saying...

But to be honest, it shouldn't matter whether people are newbies or not, as long as they have something good to say. As long as they follow the rules and post thoughtfully, it's a good thing.

No, I don't post on ones that make no sense or are just pointless, but I do tend to go through a whole bunch of threads. I suppose "EVERYTHING" was a little too big of a hyperbole. I make up the time I do not watch videos posting on threads, so I guess it helps even me out.

No, because if I do that people may catch on and use it more often...

Nay, this must be done with brute froce, something not easily replicated, and no where near as sneaky...

'sides it's not like they'd catch on and actually do the Spanish Inquisition... that's just prepostrous...

Noobs are the lifeblood of internet forums just as they are the lifeblood of computer games. They are extremely important, and many corners of the internet are dependent on them for their very survival, including this corner.

How is basing it on the date they joined childish? If they joined Dec. 8th 2009 and today is Dec. 9th 2009, obviously they just joined yesterday. Now any assumptions you make regarding that may or may not be childish however.

You yourself are a newbie, or do you become a seasoned grizzled forum raider after posting a few things here and there for a few months? In fact nobody who has posted joined more then a year ago.

Ah darn it, someone beat me to the punch. No offense intended by this post, just put things in perspective before you start labeling and possibly berating people.
