It looks like it will be a very beautiful region to play in, although I wish the landscape was a little more varied than just snowy mountains. Either way it does look awesome!
Have you seen any of the latest gameplay trailers? The game has, from what I've seen, Lush forests, dense swamps, rolling valleys, what looks like a dormant volcanic region (lot's of geysers and stuff), an open bay that has a large body of water next to one of the cities, several rivers and of course... snowy mountains. Most of the environments aren't actually white with snow either... lot's of greens and yellows of different shades in the forests and swamps, the rolling valleys have a rust colour to them with patches of grass and grey boulders scatter around.

But even with all that... the one thing I really noticed is that mountains now look like mountains, rather then the oddly shaped mountains of Oblivion and Morrowind.

Anyway to answer the question, I have no favourite locale in TES, but Bruma was my favourite region in Oblivion and trekking around Red Mountain was pretty striking for it's time in Morrowind. So skyrim, I figured, was a lovely marriage of the 2.

Considering that Akavir is lawless besides some Tribes in would need some serious retcon for that to work considering that the only expedition ended with an Emperor dead.
[Sarcasm] Meh. Who needs a story, system of commerce, or even civilization? I just like killing shit with swords in first-person. [/Sarcasm]

Black Marsh. Argonians are my race of choice and I would love to see their homeland. And more NPCs of them.

I'm fine with Skyrim, but the Summerset isles would have been cool

Also, I'm from Somerset in England (which is, I assume, where the name was borrrowed from) so that'd be cool

While I think Skyrim has a pretty cool premise, I'd love a game set in Akavir. The lore there is just so cool. Set during an Imperial invasion of it, perhaps?

Huh, maybe I missed it? I'm slow like that sometimes. The last trailer I was was that one that showed the fight between the two dragons where the guy summoned the thunderstorm(which looked awesome by the way!) and there was commentary. Well I'll have to look those up then.

i think they should and i know it would be hard but use the entire map of Tamriel
They did that in the original, but it wasn't very detailed and the culture and history of the world really hadn't been built yet. I don't think it would be feasible for them to do that with current technology. It would take far to much time and money, they would require a much larger team, and it would probably take up a lot of space. Still, it would be cool though.

Elsweyr would be pretty sick as well, considering how different the continent and culture seems in the lore, but an endless desert might be a bit boring.

I just really like Khajiit, ok?
There's a Mod out there for Oblivion that adds Elsweyr to the worldspace, it pretty awesome and really well made. It's still in development though, so it's not quite complete yet, but it still has a lot of stuff in it. It has several large cities and 3 joinable guilds and the mod adds like 10 extra breeds of Khajiit to the game. I think its worth checking out if your interested in playing in Elsweyr.

Where is the option for EVERY GODDAMN PLACe that exists in the Elder Scrolls universe. Seriously though this might be the last Elder Scrolls game (as much as we all love TES, 5 installments should be more than enough for a respected franchise don't you think?), so it would have been perfect to finally be able to explore all the previously unused provinces, including the Sea of Ghosts and Akavir. Yeah it might have been a hell of a lot of content to pack in one game, but it seems like it would be worth it for the final Elder Scrolls game.

Maybe we all should petition so that Bethesda releases DLC for every single other province.

They actually did that in the first game, it included the entire continent, although it wasn't very detailed and the culture and history of the world really hadn't been built yet, so it all looked and felt rather samey.

Also, why on earth would they end the series? It's still doing amazingly and unless Skyrim completely bombs it'll still be making them good money. I really don't see any reason they should discontinue it, especially since people are still enjoying it. I think they should keep going as long as it keeps doing well.

I... actually wanted Skyrim. 100%.

My ideal TES setting is Summerset, because of its similarities to Morrowind (it's like the polar opposite of Vvardenfell), but for that reason I didn't want that to be too early - especially given that I didn't like Oblivion much. When tech improves, TES VII: Sload Warz will be one of the best games ever. But for now, I'm really, really happy with Skyrim.
-foams at mouth-
I'd KILL for a game with Sloads. I'd kill even harder for the chance to play as a Sload.

I'm happy with Skyrim, but if I had my way it'd be High Rock (despite that already being the center of a game, Daggerfall takes place in High Rock and Hammerfell). That's just because I love Breton's. In reality, though, I'm more than happy to go anywhere they want me to (so long as I can create a Breton). Skyrim will be a wonderful place to explore. Especially after Cyrodiil (don't get me wrong, I love Oblivion, but every free roam after it and quite a few before it involves that kind high fantasy forest setting). Skyrim isn't the most interesting place we could have gone, but it's certainly a bit more interesting than Cyrodill.

I'd love to see the hist trees as well. The tidbits here and there about them and drawings don't give me enough. So Black Marsh would be a great place to see.

EDIT: Also, I'd LOVE to see more of Oblivion (the Oblivion Plane, not TES IV). I'd love to visit Azura's plane (what's that? I'll go half blind if I see the giant garden realm filled with roses? Sounds like a plan to me). But all of the Daedric Prince planes sound thoroughly epic (outside of Mehrunes' Dagon's realm, or at least outside of his randomly generated mini worlds that I can't stand). Something very similar to Shivering Isles is where I'm going with this.

High Rock has already been done, although I think it would be awesome to see a new interpretation of it and Daggerfall.

Really, Summerset? Yeah I'll take a pass. Altmer are incredibly annoying and arrogant: they are easily my least favourite race.

Also that would mean more goblins... ugh. You do know that the High Elf Wizard Lords make extensive use of goblins as soldiers and servants. Those things are incredibly annoying too, so I guess it's a good match.
Yeah, the High Elves can be assholes sometimes...
I've never really had a problem with goblins though.

But if not Summerset what area would you like the Elder Scroll series to focus on?
Oh yeah... the actual question in the thread, I was gonna answer that...

I voted that I am totally happy with Skyrim, which is true. Although I would add that Valenwood always sounded interesting.

Mostly I just want more Morrowind... but I guess before the Nerevarine since I loved the Tribunal Temple.

Looks at the poll results

Black Marsh? Really? It's not a very suitable place for an epic fantasy game like Elder Scrolls, I think. Argonians, while awesome in their own respect, live in a very small section of Tamriel, though not as small as Elswyr or Valenwood. I would prefer them to be a DLC.

As for my choice, Skyrim is befitting an epic fantasy game. I mean, Vikings? Come on. What's not to love?

I'm fine with Skyrim, but I honestly thought we were going to see Summerset due to some dialogue in Oblivion.

What about Akavir? I want to play as a tiger-dragon, snake demon, and monkey. Don't you all?

You're both genius... I especially second the Akavir idea. We always hear of the olden Akaviri invasions and how damn BA the place is. I mean, at the very least, why not have another Akaviri invasion? It would be a good game premise. "The Empire has crumbled and is assaulted by the mighty Akaviri. IT is up to you to repel their forces, using the power of Talos as prophesied in the Elder Scrolls."

I hate the (In game) Nord race- that 30 base intelligence thing just rubs me the wrong way, and... No, I do NOT like to stand close to the fire.

So I'd rather Elsweyr, if only because Khajiit don't get any love.

I'd pick High Rock, but we've already been there- Daggerfall had two provinces. It was too big for just the one, I guess.

EDIT: Can they start getting a solid naming scheme for these? First one was just called Arena, second one was named after an important city ingame, third was named for a province, fourth was named after hell and this one is back to the province name again.

Sure, they all bear the TES name, but still.
