Poll: Where's the Halo love?

I know halo isn't very well liked around here, but i for one like halo. Is Halo the best game ever? certainly not, but it was a good game with a solid multiplayer. I'm generally an avid PC gamer (i refuse to you the phrase "hardcore") I still just don't get why people hate it so much.

So do you like or dislike halo? please state why.

It's an alright game. The first one was best, and it was quite fun to play with friends. The story was sorta generic, but it was a fun game. Not the second coming of christ, nor a pile of shit in a box. Just a fun, fairly mindless shooter. I prefer Half Life.

I like the Halo series. The single player experience was nice. The multiplayer is great casual fun and offers many different game modes. The thing that I, and many like-minded people, dislike it is for the community. All the worst genres of gamers comprise it.

I love halo, and most of the halo hate comes from a single troll with many accounts. Halo 3 was a bit of a letdown in the single player area but everything else about every other games was good, just about anyway.

You shouldn't make a thread asking people if they hate X, instead make a thread asking if they like X, its less likely to become a flame war.

It's a fun FPS to play with your friends. I quite like it, truth to tell, although I don't feel it's anything all that special (except for maybe a competent FPS on a console.)

I'm in the loved the first one, loved the seconds multiplayer, but hates everything about the 3rd one catergory.

But yeah people just hate the fanboys rather than the games, just like all popular things.

Unfortunately, there's no option for an 'inbetween' just a blanket good or bad doesn't really cover it. It's a mediocre game, it's not a -bad- game, but it's nothing that innovative because there are several other games like it that are just as good. Sure you can praise the multiplayer, but honestly, if you've got a PC, there are much better deathmatch/capture the flag/etc type games you can play for free, so that claim is kind of moot.
